Continuing the 9th Birthday celebrations of Clubbed Up Radio, we roll into the second week of 2009 with a guest DJ who is no stranger to a continuing onslaught of praise, respect and ground breaking music.
This week, we are proud to announce Christian Smith to the Clubbed Up Radio Studios.
Christian has been an influence in the scene for multiple years inspiring people the world over with his groundbreaking productions, most of which with his studio partner John Selway. From early anthems such as “Move” right up to 2008’s biggest track of the year “Total Departure”, Christian has been a workhorse in both the studios and on the club scene consistently. His world tour in 2009 will reiterate this reputation, The Tronic Treatment Tour will take over USA, Brazil, Spain, UK, Ireland, Singapore, Indonesia, Korea, Japan, China, Italy, Germany, Slovenia, and climax with a big party at WMC Miami at the end of March.
Christian Smith & John Selway are going back into the studio in January, to work on new single projects for Drumcode (the follow-up to Total Departure is pencilled in for March 2009), Tronic, Bedrock (Christian’s follow-up to “Flyertalk”), and Alchemy (Mauro Picotto’s label). They’ll also be working on remixes for Dubfire, Steve Angello, and Fergie. For more information check out www.myspace.com/christiansmithdj
So already, it looks like 2009 is going to be another big year for Christian Smith, and what a way to see in the year for us other than an exclusive mix from the man himself.
Our opening section of the show will be put together by your hosts Danny Roberts and James Burn who will be performing a live and unplanned back to back mix with a selection of the best tracks around at the moment and forthcoming to the shops. Expect a wide range of all things techno, tribal and funk!
