i use a side chain compressor called kjeures audio and old plug but very effective , if not try the tc works compressor desser this works well also in your sends a great plug for teaking everything out.

but the thing that is giveing me a hard on at the moment which ive just used in my new supertech project is t racks 3 delux jesus christ wot a tool, there is in the delux preset section a base compressor , use that tied together with the eq track slammer bobs ya uncle seal the windows in ya house its phat!

Well, I have had a liquid mix since they were released.
Sooo
first I would say, try the emulations for yourself and see what gets you the reults YOU want.

I use the brit classic tube 1 on bass for when I am just looking to smooth down the sound a little, and it gives a nice velvet edge for deep sounds.

The US modern copycat is great for slamming the hell out of your bass

And the primitive US classic tube 2 is also nice for taming bass.

For kicks I generally want something that gives a nice hard round sound, for techno anyway, so I use the Dunk A/US Modern Fet1 or the US classic solid state 1 and 2, although I am starting to get into the sound the Meat Pie Brit 60`s class A gives me.

Just play.

For EQ I looooove the massive passive. there is good ssl stuff in there too, but ssl is for pop music, who wants that for techno!!!???

c'mon dude thats a total generalisation.. lay off the attack a bit on an SSL and it works wonders for any style, not just pop music.

? erm
Most of my tracks use the liquid mix.
go check http://www.myspace.com/dirtybassvoidloss

http://www.myspace.com/dirtybassrecordings
http://www.myspace.com//dirtybassgrooves

The compressors all have a sidechain feature, the EQ section sets where the sidechain emphasis is and you just set it to whatever frequency you want to sidechain too, the sidechain monitor button is for this.

It is, it`s a hardware dsp processor that is essentially a sintefex device, but you can`t sample hardware audio paths with it, it comes with a bunch of sintefex algorythms of a lot of commonly used high end studio EQ and compression, including a surprising amount of Boutique kit.

Updates to the library are also on the way
