This weeks show is set to be huge, the heavyweight of dance music compilations, Global Underground, release their 36th release this month and with it comes a figure in the industry that has been on top of his game for decades now and still continues on to push his sound and DJing to the limits.
We present to you… Darren Emerson
Darren is best known for his part in Underworld, one of dance music’s most influential and best loved acts who brought you tracks such as Cowgirl, Rez, Push Upstairs, Mmm… Skyscraper I Love You and possibly the biggest dance music record of all-time, Born Slippy. Underworlds sound was developed from the peak of the acid house era crossing over to the rave sound of the early 90’s when the scene was thriving, Underworld went onto to impress and become world famous headlining events such as Glastonbury and playing to 96,000 people at the Toronto Skydome making them one of the most successful dance music acts of all time. Darren left the band at the turn of the millennium to focus more on his solo DJ career and has since flourished in both productions and gigs with tracks such as “Scorchio” co-produced along with Sasha, being one of the anthems of 2000. Other gigs at home and overseas getting the Emerson-treatment have enabled him to spread his music far and wide and rightfully earn the massive respect he holds today.
