View Full Version : inviting people to blackout

I was thinking about this a while ago
and then funnily enough mark pulled the site down because so many people couldn't sign up.
so now we have a fresh site and a new server
I think it's about time we all plugged the hell out of blackout audio on our respective websites blogs

so Marky boy , can we have a banner please to stick up on our sites ?
you know? a "click here" blackout audio logo type thingy to take people to the registration page ?

good idea?

perhaps something with a little lightbulb that goes out when you click it
or something that blacks out your whole screen for a second or 2.
can that be done ?

it's a great idea.

but i think the actual registration changes won't be fully realized until next week, so i'd hold off until mark gives the go-ahead.

I've been hawking BOA on my face book profile and fan page* - few people said they gonna sign up

* I know, what a dick! :D

But yeah, a facebook advert is pretty easy to set up and cheap as well, you can specify how much per-day to budget. We need MOAR traffic, I'm the only one rating shit in RAW I swear. I've gotta stop now cos it's my tunes up there! Get on it people.

I love the idea of the lightbulb, not sure people would appreciate anything that blacks out their whole screen though.

perhaps RSS feeds from the events and releases section. And maybe even RAW.

Also, if you're on a flier for a gig, if it's possible, get the blackoutaudio website address put on there. maybe leave a few little cards/fliers/roach material at parties. (more costly)

Oh hey thanks y'all! I am glad to be here. My music fits more in the easily attacked "minimal" (I saw the hawtin fashion thread) or less hateable tech-house category... so not sure where I fit here...

But I do I have a long history with techno and DJed hard techno and acid from 1993 to about 2002, own a 303 and no matter how I develop as an artist this stuff is like comfort food to me.

Thanks for the warm welcome!

You own a 303, that's all well and good, but you live in San Diago, which is FAR to far for me to come and rob your house :hissyfit:

back on track with the thread, I'm also plugging the site on the techno/acid tunes on youtube.

victorjohn

Yeah if my old veins contain anything but byproducts of the petroleum plastics industries waste runoff... then yes, you might say I am new blood.
