Various - Trapdoor Material Part 1
Cat No: MANTRAP004

A1.puresthatred - robbery
A2. Magnetize - Distant Observer
B1. Rory St John - Dysentry
B2. Sunil Sharpe - Print More Money And Shut Up!!

Plays and support from Dave Clarke (on 'White Noise'), Grovskopa, Jerome Hill, Paul Mac, Chris Finke and more…

DJ Feedback:
Jerome Hill: The Rory St John is right up my alley.. very Armani/Johnson. The Magnetize is also wickedly uncomfortable and Sunil’s is taking me on a proper journey as i type... Excellent release!!!!
Paul Mac: Quality oddness as per usual from Mantrap the Magnetize track just edging it for me will definitely play this one for some time.
Grovskopa: Really like the b-side, Rory's is very "white man can funk!":y and I love that funny floorkiller break. The Sunil track sounds like Kraftwerk on Special K.
C-System - I listened to the ep and I like it very much! It’s a very good EP... I play vinyl in my sets and i would like to include some tracks from this ep.
Chris Finke: This new mantrap is a BAD BOY - that first track is right up my street! Big room tune. I am going to be charting this and playing it in my upcoming radio show. All 4 are winners - full support :)
Kr!z (Token records) : Really love the b-side tracks. Will try 'em out next weekend!
Marcel Heese (Tresor HQ): B2 is my favourite - sounds like the kind of Brighton-influenced techno i like. Has the funk! Nice title as well ;)
Jamie Behan (Subject Detroit) : Detailed feedback to follow but what I will say for now..... this is a ****ing killer!!!! best mantrap to date.
The Puresthatsred - Robbery track is my tune of 2009 so far. What an unbelievable animal of a thing.

Various - Trapdoor Material Part 1
This is the first in a series of three various artist 12" releases, that features four of the Dublin label's most trusted henchmen. Puresthatred's 'robbery' is his debut track on Mantrap and what an awesome one it is: Dark imposing bass and beats meet the sound of smashing glass, rave led keys and all round mayhem, with haunting strings that send this one into deepest hell. Meeting him there is Magnetize, who in one take supplied this evil vox led synth grinder in 'Distant Observer', with deft 808s and distorted crackling fx creating both a scary but grooving feel. Rory St John pushes wobbly techno eccentricity on 'Dysentry’, with fluid editing and supreme use of effects proving again why he is one of the most exciting new talents around. Sunil Sharpe's "Print More Money and Shut Up!!" is a slippery mover, where a succession of unruly lead sounds accompany odd vocals and rasping hats - with a straightforward approach that will penetrate all in its way. So, four top class techno cuts here, all with their own unique character and all for peak time play.

Has the edit button disappeared today?! Maybe a moderator could re-format the subject line here, as I think I must have done it back to front, cheers!
