Ian Fenech (24/02/1987) aka Ian Zahn got into electronic music at the tender age of 13. He used to listen to hip hop music before he got in touch with the electronic side of things. He's mates gave him a cd of mixed artists such as Paul Van Dyk, Ferry Corsten, Paul Oakenfold to name a few and he instantly fell in love with this type of music. A year after at the age of 14 Ian got so interested in this music that he wanted to learn how to spin, and that’s exactly what he did! After passing a DJ Course with one of Malta’s finest dj's JJOY, Ian started having gigs at local nightclubs. At the age of 15 Ian was a resident dj at one of Malta’s biggest nightclubs AXIS in Paceville. At this time Ian used to spin trance music but that was until he met with a good friend of his named Chris Pace aka Manthrax. He put on a mix of Jeff Mills vs. Laurent Garnier at I Love Techno. When he heard this dj set Ian was so amazed that he decided to sell every trance record he has so he can start playing techno music. As soon as he started spinning techno things started to look really well for Ian, playing in various techno events with artists like, Carl Max, Jeff Mills, Lars Klein, Bas Mooy, Smash Tv, Sven Wittekind, Mike Drama, Spark Taberner, Carlos Rios, Charlton, BMB, Felix Krocher, Adam X to name a few. Thanks to Adrian V of FUSED DJING and Malcolm of FACT started booking him in most of the events they did making him finding a comfortable place in the local techno scene. Thanks to MIKE DRAMA from Holland Ian had the opportunity to represent his country in Holland in a party called Industry of Techno in Masslauis. After this Ian had various gigs in Holland almost every year! He also teamed up with MONOCORE and founded an organization in Malta called BROTHERHOOD OF DARKNESS promoting the darker side of techno in the Maltese scene. They also sometimes team up together under the name BIOMEK, playing only live sets. The year 2008 saw Ian signing up with a number of record labels thus releasing his work! Watch out for this guy as he is set to rock a dance floor near you!
