Hey, I'm just discovering glitch techniques and have been looking around a bit. I've found most of the DAWs or plug-ins used for glitch aren't for a live setting.

I'm just about to start a project with my friend and I'm going to be controlling the tone and FX of his guitar while he plays http://glitchhopforum.com/images/smilies/new_2gunsfiring_v1.gif . I want to be able to glitch
him out and have as much control of the glitching as possible.

I'm just not to familiar with any program that can do that reliably and with
almost absolute control.

I don't have any Hardgear so I need to use plug-ins with my Macbook pro

any ideas?

Welcome to the forum Phage

The above listed plugings are all good, but unfortunatly dblue glitch is windows only i think.

Audio Damage also do some good ones

Audio Damage :: Automaton (http://www.audiodamage.com/effects/product.php?pid=AD020) is awsome but has quite a step learning curve. but there are tutorials on youtube. YouTube - Audio Damage Automaton Overview Pt. 1 - Sequencer (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6rokVYptkW4)

and
Audio Damage :: Replicant (http://www.audiodamage.com/effects/product.php?pid=AD013) is good for repeat and stutter fx.
