right am upgrading my studio monitors, think it boils down to these...



A/ KRK RP5 G2 - 90 WATT ACTIVE MONITORS- PAIR OF (http://www.htfr.com/more-info/MR272145) KRK RP5 G2 - 90 WATT ACTIVE MONITORS



B/ FOSTEX PM 05 MK2 - 140 WATT ACTIVE MONITORS- A PAIR OF (http://www.htfr.com/more-info/MR335359) FOSTEX PM 05 MK2 - 140 WATT ACTIVE MONITORS



....or maybe someone knows a similar spec that's even better, same sorta budget. cheers.

KRK is used by every other Techno / Electronic dance-music producer these days. They're good for the price no doubt but you really need to listen to what speakers that suits you best. I have a pair of the 8" KRKs for reference listening so I know how they sound really well by now but personally I wouldn't use them as my main listening but since you mention the budget is in the range of the KRKs...try them, play stuff you reckon and know good in them at the store.
