Yeah nice one, the 909 site is coming along nicely, all new releases and a couple rarer prev vinyl only releases on there - I like it!

Any chance of a few more older SUFs on there, im thinking 99 - 06 releases?

serato is coming, which is vinyl but it scares me...im not v gd @ technology

cdj's b easier by a mile but costly x 3!

Despite being fairly technological minded I also used to rely purely on me old vestax pdx-d3s for spinning tunes, mostly due to the numerous crates of vinyl I've got clogging up my bedroom.

However last year finally took the plunge and bought a Pioneer CDJ400 unit, only one mind, to fit in with my two turntables. This now means I have to balance out my digital purchases with buying vinyl, which is not neccesarily a bad thing...I've been mixing for the last 10 years using vinyl and can still mix better using it. However the main advantages the CDJ brings me is being able to play some of the classics at a much cheaper price and picking up some of the rarer releases where I cannot find the vinyl for love or money. The best of both worlds!

yeah man, get ya 100%...u obv same boat as me...i just paid for instance 45 notes for jack me/ww acid on suf...i actually enjoy/love and feeel more like ''ive done a mix'' on the 1210's


but the cdj or serato is on the way summa these days purely cos like u said A cant ger the ****ers on wax/havta pay sillly money and obv lotta shit aint vinyl'd now

as soon as i can afford im goin dig....but with the preferentiation of me vinyl

i dont actually mind payin big (ish) dolla for some tunes, but the thing is for me ive 5-6k wax and i just love the loook/filing into labels/styles etc


any tunemonster will no wot im sayin but times HAVE changed and im quite sure within a yr or so there will b no vinyl releases

and i aint gonna b missin out


at the end of the day, a tunes a tune, but u doin the one cdj thing...which limits u m ixwise (or wotever u have on wax-cd) just get serato tehn u can do the lot cos ur still ''on vinyl''


i still say **** technology but im in full understanding that theres no way that i can keep up with the current releases (and if i like a tune, i have to have it, whether i pay me rent late/starve for it lol) so its the way ''forward...


wax obv costs £ to make but producers just make a tune now, save the ****er and sell it for 1.50

I know what you mean though, I'm 28 and it makes me sick to see kids starting up straight onto laptop mixing, its almost like missing out on the whole point of things! And as I said on another thread its not as though these DJs are using the technology to push groundbreakingly creative sets, just seems to be straightforward beat match mixing...

Work from the ground up thats what I've always thought when it comes to DJing, if you cannot mix on vinyl, a lot of the power that Tractor etc bring will be neglected!

yeah, serato buzzz gd (ive only played out on it once) and obv hadta hav lappy etc (and hope lappy b reliable at said time) but wi the cdj u guaranteed a box of tunes on a cpl cd's so it seeems the best way even tho of the expense...and aswell u do get a gd few effects and a feeel of mixin too


im in 2 minds wot to do tbh...prob get serato for the gaff an cdj for playin out practice even thi i aint played out since 20009!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! fs but that was before that acidtechno head took control and i was hardtrance

used both and cdj just didnt do it for me for some reason.....but i reckon itll b cdj's, but the f****in costs man....i have a feeeling cdj will defo grow on me, lot of mates use them, but if theres 12's avail i'll jump on them in a sec...just the same as decks reallly...but i like the big fat sumtimes ****ed up uncontrollable sometimes warped/outta time warped slabs of plastic if that makes sense
