Having experienced the developing Techno landscape of the Mid 1990’s and witnessed - along the way - some landmark DJ performances from the likes of Richie Hawtin and Derrick May, Phase began to take his first tentative steps towards music production. His debut track “Module Overload” was promo’d by Steve Bicknell during 1999 and finally released on London’s Lost/Cosmic records in 2000...

Alongside his production work Phase is also a Mastering engineer and on/off artwork designer. Starting out at London’s prestigious (and sadly no longer in existence) Sony Music/Whitfield Street Studios, he has cut records for numerous underground dance acts as well as working on projects for mainstream artists. His various artworks can be found on the Inceptive Records (UK) back-catalogue amongst other places...

Resonance welcomes Phase with open arms as he makes the trip up to Birmingham for this special occasion.



Black Smith Craft
Spurred on by the development of increased exposure through radio Tyler started honing his skills in music production and the ‘Alphaground’ website was born. This brought about more exposure for his music mission and by 2004 Tyler was performing on a number of key profile dance music stations in France and Holland. During 2006 he launched ‘Interstate 94’ show with Erell Ranson & Pedro Cali for Livesets.com, which was dedicated to the sound of Detroit. This was quickly followed by the aptly named ‘B-Side Show’ which showcased the darker, offbeat & industrial sounds. Currently Tyler is managing different shows playing classics from way back as well as Detroit & Birmingham tunes on Livesets.com, Emergence FM (Limoges/France), and Techno.fm

In 2006 Tyler’s finally realised the goal of having his debut vinyl release which was in collaboration with Bionic on French label ‘Audiocrash’. This was quickly followed by several upstanding digital releases. Over the years Tyler’s side to music has become darker & more industrial, which in turn has led to the birth of his most acclaimed project: Black Smith Craft…

Again, Resonance look forward to the arrival of Black Smith Craft as he makes the trip from France.

Now the problem here for me is I've been burnt by Atomic Jam, years ago I heard it was then best thing sliced bread. I went there hoping for now what is classed as "mid 90s techno" and got some drivel which really made me want to go and punch people.

I've got this feeling right. This is going to be the same "Do I get a build to something, NO", "Do I get a build to something, NO".

Don't get me wrong, BSC have given A decent set IMHO. But really the Techno needs to get it's shit back in gear, I'm ****ing fed up of this.

Back to driving 909/equivelent beats or **** off. I don't give a shit if it's all sweaty blokes dancing, they were at least all pilled up and going mental, not some boring mince around.

P.S. Please Birmingham stop this pants, we need you to go back to what the black country stood for.

I presume you are talking about the Atomic Jam at the end of Jan? If you saw the line up, and still went, you've only got yourself to blame.

Where have you gathered these feelings from about a night you know nowt about?

If you are just posting in this thread to troll, move along please. :)

If you want some research aids, give us a shout. There are a whole load of really nice crews of people, who are frustated about only having one of two techno nights to go to, putting stuff on.

BTW, Birmingham and the Black Country are different places. ;)

No not Atomic Jam in Jan, it was the one with Robert Hood, Brian Sanji and Chris Leibing (all have made hard techno tunes in the past), utterly disappointed.

Not Trolling, just venting. It's a long way to travel to be let down.

Soz, assumed Birmingham was Black Country since Regis/Surgeon made a shout out to it in one of their past gigs in Slovakia/Czech. Before they also decided to switch to insipid stuff.
