ive come across some good tracks in the last 6 months but id like too see some more innovation yeah, some of the recent gritty synthy stuff has really tickled my fancy though, beppe barili, scot project, personally id liek to see some more of this raw trance coming about with a heavy electronic sounds to it and producers getting some intersting textures and sequences to the sound.

Whilst some of the stuff ive heard recently has been pretty clever in its production and shown some good touches in change of the normal sequence i think producers should try andmove away from whats normal a little more now, keep the fundimentals of what trance music is about but look at were it can go as dance music but still work in a club, id love to hear some really clever and powerful synthesis and sounds in stuff , i think a lot of potential is being lost in trance music at the moment because nobody is prepared to move on, there is some good stuff appearing but im desperate for someone to just throw it all on its head with a start of something fresh.

I understand that for music to work in a club and a mix it has to follow some rules but there is still a massive scope for something differnt i think.

Nah I don't think its a case of wasting time, its a case of getting your feelings off your chest about Hard Trance. I've had a problem not finding hard trance, but hard trance that isn't same old... there's just much more hardstyle and uplifting comming out at the moment its over shadowing the amount of hard trance being released. EmotionComplex has hit the nail on the head on how I feel I think.

Bringing it up on here helps people understand how others feel about the matter, although I do appreciate what your saying in that its a bit negative and we could spend the time talking about the lack of trance searching for it.

I think the best search is the search backwards... find the tunes you missed! (and that others missed cause of bad promotion of it!)

yeah I agree, but I think stale doesn't mean it isn't good... just isn't fresh ideas.

I would disagree with that aswell tbh.... ur post on FSC maybe highlights that it isnt stale?

i'm not saying all the tunes are bad just in general its all pretty stale you must agree surely - i used to listen to a pile of about 20 records when i went shopping and now only 2-3 have done it for me :)

nah I agree Louk. There's lots of releases these days, but there's only a fraction that really catches my attentions. That's not to say the tracks that don't catch my attention are not good, simply that they offer nothing new or different over 100's of other tunes in the past I've heard and bought.

I think Hardstyle is currently the hardest genre to find decent releases on, I find most hardstyle is very copy-cat, not well made or old idea's reused.

I've got a bit bored of the dance pollution label a while back as I felt all there releases were the same old beat with different set of female vocals saying somthing like "oh yea, well kiss my ass and listen to this beat" or some rubbish over and over. But Hardstyle is slowing evolving from its boom.

Back to Hard Trance though! name a few tunes of late that you feel are quality as I've not found many that I think are quality enough to buy. :(

itd be easy for me to pretend that im well happy with the sound at the moment but if im really honest there is hardly anything that has been delivered recently that has overly impressed me, yeah theres some solid good tracks still coming out but if were honest like hakka said basically nothing new.

Mazzaa & Martinelli - Kiss That Sound (Beppe Barili Electro mix)

Dj Scot Project - Fm

being the only productions that have truly impressed me so far this year hard trance wise (there have been a fwe others that have impressed me production wise too) other than that i have been making do with the best of the rest so to speak, i had been thinking about this a lot recently, some of the newer stuff has still delivered a good amount of energy but its been in a similar way to many tracks that have gone before.

I really do think its upto the newer producers now to start looking at a fresh perspective, i know its all very well for me to say this but im so sure that theres a whole space of sound and ideas no ones touching on yet, infact the argument that hard trance is getting stale, yes i agree, i bloody well agree and i love this music but i dont mind admitting i genuinly think it is starting to get stale, if we sit here and say yeah well there are some bad releases but you have to search for the good ones then the producers will be content to carry on reeling out stuff that is fine but isnt really justifiable as 5 records befoer it basically did it anyway.

I know this music is about the energy and the dancefloor but i really do think were starting to exhaust are current resources, with todays music power and talent i really do belive that were missing something potentially great dance music or not.

am i alone in this perspective ?

it certinly did seem that way didnt it, i think a lot of it was very good as thats when it was fresh, new, exciting. thats what we need again and to get it people have to move forward and leave behind certain expectations and ideas i think.

imo trance music needs to be re examined and taken forward, it wont happen over night but i think the wheels need to start turning soon and more risks taken.

you dont think this aplies to trance ? i think it definetly does apply, and by other genres are you refering to other dance genres or other music genres.

the topic is about current trance music and i definetly think it applys to this strongly, you cant ignore the fact its a style of music that is keeping lots of rules for its self (perhaps other genres do also but they arent the issue at the moment) what im trying to get across is my deep frustration that basically no one (or no one i have come across) is making any big steps to move forward , my previous posts might be a bit full on sounding like i want a complete revolution in the sound, if im realistic thats not going to happen but id like there to be some freshness appearing, someone offering something new and widening the scope.

Good new bangin trance, Let Me see being a newbie I wouldn't know what you would call a good tune.

Theres some good new stuff coming through on Tunnel for 2004.

Except the stuff that Paul Oakenfold has done for them that is just complete Toss.

Overdose allways a good choice, but recently their tunes have started to go down hill in my opinion.

For me though the best label at the MO has deffo got to be Future Sound Corp. Absoloutly wicked label.
