To upload Filez if you're a beginner:

1ST OF ALL, YOU NEED WEBSPACE. USUALLY THIS COMES FROM YOUR ISP (Internet Service Provider)... (WITH MOST OF THE ONES LIKE NTL/CABLE AND WIRELESS ETC, THEY GIVE YOU FREE WEBSPACE)

PHONE THEM UP AND GET:

1) 'THE URL ADDRESS FOR YOUR WEBSPACE'...

ie mine is http://www.blackoutaudio.co.uk (I use a provider that I've paid for) but yours if you are with a standard ntl/cable type provider may be http://homepage.ntlworld.com/yourname or something like that.

2) 'THE FTP ADDRESS FOR YOUR WEBSPACE'...

Check this with your provider. Usually your ftp space will look like this: ftp://username:password@upload.ntlworld.com or similar. The username and password will be the same as your e-mail username and password half the time.

************************************************** **********

THEN YOU NEED TO BE ABLE TO UPLOAD FILES TO THE FTP ADDRESS. USE A PROG SUCH AS WS_FTP PRO (RECOMMENDED) AND MAKE SURE YOU PUT IN THE CORRECT VALUES FOR USERNAME AND PASSWORD ETC BEFORE YOU CONNECT... THEN TRANSFER YOUR FILES AND JUMP TO THE END OF THIS POST TO LEARN HOW TO ACCESS YOUR HTTP.... or there's another way...

************************************************** **********

TYPE IN ftp://username:password@upload.ntlworld.com or whatever your ftp address is that you were given.

You should connect to your FTP site without any probs. But if it doesn't, type in your username and password when it asks for it.

Now minimize your web browser window and find a file you want to put onto your FTP site (lets say slut.mp3 on your hard drive). COPY it. Open up your web browser and PASTE it into your FTP site.

the url of that file would be:

the URL of your webspace you were given at the beginning of this post, plus the name of the file. ie for the puposes of this example (check the beginning if you don't understand!):

http://homepage.ntlworld.com/yourname/slut.mp3

If you want to go a stage further, you could access your FTP again, then RIGHT CLICK - NEW FOLDER - rename it 'audio', go into that new folder 'audio' and paste your mp3 there! You'll have created a directory on your FTP called 'audio'!

the URL of the mp3 would be:

http://homepage.ntlworld.com/yourname/audio/slut.mp3

ANY PROBS AT ALL - DON'T PANIC! Post your problem here and we'll all try to help, I'm sure

i would really recommend getting a decent FTP client, rather then using Internet Explorer and Windows Explorer method...

my personal fav is SmartFTP http://www.smartftp.com
FlashFXP is excellent and so is CuteFTP .

tip - you can normally copy the URL to a FTP site and paste it into the address bar of the FTP client and it will load up - without having to put in separete entries for username/password/port etc...

(if using SmartFTP copy the below and it should detect that you want to connect to the FTP site and ask you if you want to do so...)

ftp://ftpupload:ftpupload@194.203.32.99:2121

Cool, cheers man. Yes an FTP client is better really.

Adapted from another post:

To set an MP3 to stream, upload your mp3 to your webspace,

so, for example, the url location is: http://www.yourwebsite.com/audio1.mp3

Open notepad, on your desktop (right click - new - text document). and on the first line, type in the url of the mp3 (eg// http://www.yourwebsite.com/audio1.mp3)

Save the file as eg 'audio1.m3u' (press 'save as' then type 'audio1.m3u' as the file name and make sure the drop down menu (files of type) says *.*... Click Save)

Upload this resultant .m3u file to your webspace,

To make your MP3 start to play, type in the name of this link into your web browser: (eg// link to http://www.yourwebsite.com/audio.m3u),

This should work, at least in winamp!
