I think techno is all about the beat, so I start with a percussion workout. No hats, no kick.
generally if I can get a percussion section to get me jumpin about, then I know that when a kick and hats are stuck in, it`s gonna be even better.

synth and pads first lately. They seems to take the most time for me, so i thought it might be wise to do them when my energy and focus are the highest.

yeah the synth line takes me about 50% of the production time

i usually look for the synth sounds first (take forever haha), then add drums/perc. later

kick is rarely the first, most of the time it tends to be the percussion or other mid parts.

I just start putting ideas together ,start from a different place every time maybe a sound , rhythm , bassline ,vocal snippet often these original ideas dont make it into the finished track but they are a jumping off point for me ;)
