One of the best ways to push your Dj career forward in general is to run your night.
This is where you can book foreign DJ's/producers and try for swaps or just to build future relationships.
I play a bit in Italy and Switerzland with gigs that Daniel Maker sets up for me due to the relationship we've had for the last couple of years.
It might sound a bit far fetched or just to hard to do but this is proberly how most Dj's further their career.

cheers Tim, I have a night in planning at the moment, just waiting to hear back from the venue I asked..... hopefully will be able to get some stuff through that, though Plymouth is pretty much miles from everywhere, especially Europe

LOL, Plymouth is pretty much miles away from the rest of Britain too!
Plymouth is really close to France! Dont knock it!
Geoff mate, the best way is to check the main dance community site, go to each nite's website, email each promotor and send them each a CD... Seeing you are in the UK they might raise your profile above the rest.. www.partyflock.nl and the game begins.
I have been gigging every month since October last year in Holland, and I onlt got there last August... It's all about your will.... next week I am playing on Queens Day in front of over 1 millions peeps on the street. ho ho.
