For me, it is Traktor. A more stable platform and the price is more reasonable compared to serato.

final scratch is a heap of shit, and no longer gets supported so scratch that one of the list. I got final scratch, and am never buying anything stanton related ever again. Cunts.

So that leaves a two horse race between serato and traktor.

Personally I'd plump for traktor, because I trust native instruments to continue making great software and supporting their users.

Serato great as well, but long term I think the software support is more important than the hardware.

Did you have a bad experience with them on a support level, Jay?

I use Traktor, and really like it, but Native Instruments do have a habit of rushing updates out without fully checking them, and then having to bugfix in the next update. They got a LOT of sh*t when Traktor Pro was first released, as it was really buggy, and they are still sorting out those bugs in the most recent updates. It's also really fussy as to which laptops it works on, and which it doesn't, but... I love it!

I'd like to use Ableton for mixing eventually too, as I think it'd really change the style and sound of my mixes, but I'm a complete Ableton n00b, so will have to wait until I've got time to sit and scratch my head while working it out

stanton had a relationship with native instruments - so stanton provided the hardware (Final scratch) and native instruments the software (traktor)

Then they ended their partnership and FS users were left with old software, no support and a hunk of metal that stanton generously gave a 6 months warranty.

Support non-existant. Last time I touch stanton.

If you have a DJ mixer you just need a soundcard with multiple outs.
