Looking for a new apartment - need some acoustic tips!

So I really want a loft style open air apartment....
The one I'm lookin at now has hardwood floors, high ceilings, and exposed brick.

Question is, how will this affect the studio acoustics? My gut instinct tells me that having it "over -to-the-side" will probably not be very good. Tons of reverb/reflections etc etc etc...
Seeing as carpet on the floor around the general area is probably a must... (am I wrong?), do I need to build an actual enclosure for the whole thing?
Can simple acoustic treatment allow it to be open all the way?
Is it fine how it is?

Any tips are appreciated, as I need to put my Hancock on someone's lease SOON!

carpet actually has almost no affect, and lots of studios have hardwood floors.

a high ceiling will be good for letting your sounds breath, but you will probably want some foam on the back wall and in the corners to start with.
