again eq question

i know i know... its been here so many times but its bothering me

if i got sound like specific synth bass which frequncy lane is vast its not only bassy but got some middles and highs, and the thing is i want it to sound just like that, and when comes to equalizin any change of any knob makes a noticable difference and spoils the sound, what should i do ?? forget the eq and focus on the sounds which can be trimmed or what please ? :?:

yeah eq is tricky, and one hell of a head f**k..

sometimes with synthy sounds, it's always a good idea to compress nicely - eqing gets a little easier i find when you do this.
