Definately. I don't know exactly how he did it but I saw him at UTI months ago where he was doing it by mixing MP3's of his tracks so I'd imagine he was doing the same thing for that performance.
Aye it certainly is a PA.
All my own tunes aswell (unlike some other peoples 'live' sets) ;)
It's cuts of tracks and new sections/loops/etc all put together on a live mixing program, so I guess you'd be right in saying it sounds more like a DJ set I guess.
I prefer to play like this nowadays, to be honest. People get to hear more fresh stuff and it forces me to keep trying to make the toughest shit I possibly can as I can't rely on spinning surefire bangers put together by other people !
Also, I don't like Ableton (though I've tried to) so don't really want to go down that route. I've NEVER heard anyone raise total ****ing mayhem using that thing, it seems a touch too sleek and seamless for me. Good for some types of music I'm sure, more minimal stuff or whatever, but I want my stuff to sound SHAMBLING and WRONG.
Hope this clears up any confusion... ;)
yup defo was live.
as jamie just said he uses a live mixin software prog to mix his own tunes in a live enviroment...
not yer conventional live "way" to do it i suppose but hes got his own thing going on and it certainly rocked the whole house.
