It's just the first 2 1/2 minutes.

ok you wanted critisism. here's goes.

mate you've got a long way to go... but take this for what it is - a way to spur you on to get better.

i heard the beginning and i really didn't like it... really boring and dull.

then when the bass came in i thought - good bass...

but then as time went on a felt like i was underwater. the riff was again, dull and uninteresting eq wise. the notes were absolutely fine.

in fact, throughout the whole of this.. the notes you've put in on all the sounds were fine.. it's your eq that matters.

and it's eq that you learn about over time. it's about posotioning sounds eq wise in their proper space to make the tracks sound interesting. that's the key to good production.

so my advice to you is go away and learn about eq.

it's so obvious you've got good ideas. make this your mission man. learn about this shit. that way you're going to make it.

hope this helps. and i hope that one day down the line you'll turn round and say.. wow that was really good advice.

Cheers Mark, thats all it takes, rather than people saying 'yeah mate its good' and then not commenting on more specific aspects of the tune.

I shall take those points and go away with them and try to improve on my mistakes, and learn about eq'ing a bit more.

And your right, I have got a long way to go, but I wanna make it, and desire is all you need.

Go back to the beginning now and add the next layer !

When laying down traxx I do a very ruff map of what i want , then go back to the begginning and keep adding layers , like painting , until you get that glossy finish !

Hi Corbz...

I would play with drums for a bit mate. Make some basic loops using a kick, hi hat and clap and then find a pattern you like as find building up a drum loop to cover the bass & kick makes the track progress and seem less "samey" over time.

The hi hat usage is pretty high so I'd try and break them up every 16 beats... maybe miss a few out or have some hi hats group up at one point like a snare... experiment! Try not to build up so obviously though to the listener... it's sort of sounding/looking like this at mo.

If that drawing makes no sense, then ignore it... it's pretty hard to draw the track layout in this window!

Corbz it takes loads of experimenting to finally find what makes the sound you wanted to get so don't ever feel down, keep moving foward!

or get some loops and usid ACID to change temp so it's same BPM as your track... then drop them in gradually at the 32 beat cycles which you want them to be at with a cymbol, drum or whatever...

i think there needs to be more definition when the bass kicks so you really feel it kick, its a bit too progessive,
give that bass some more power and rebound.
what programme did you make this on?

Fruity Studio, but mate!....I thought that Kick and Bass had a fuddin well good come in, its like 50 times harder than the deliberate weak kick and bass at the start and its designed to take you by surprise! I don't think I will be changing that bit mate!!

rite mate here is my interpreatations of ur tune

hi hats at teh beggin dont sound like they are a pattern, there just a lil random, i alway try and start with a loop

as for sequencing its a bit dodgy to have a bass sound drop so early and kick needs cummin in etc

need more perc and more reveeb! bass rips nice but lack of perc looses a pro feel, there needs to be more sounds, its very thin!

im goin bed now there is potential, get more verb and delay on ur lead sounds to make them more natural
