Is it me or is it the case that the better you get at producing your percussion the more weak 303 emulators sound when you put them in the track or is this just a shift in taste?

Well I think the audiorealism is still very good, if you treat it properly.
It's bloody good for a certain range of TB sounds but I'm not really into it for my purposes. Doesn't seem to have the bite for nasty acid. doesn't seem to like being distorted.
save up and buy a tb303 then, nothing sounds more like the original than the original, the only problem is theyre so damn expensive
whack the m-drive plugin behind it, heheQuote:

Tau2 ships with its own distortion plugin: m-drive. This tiny FX is capable of warm, valve-like fuzz or nuclear digital overload - you choose!
in my experience 303s and lots of percussion don't mix too well...Quote:

Most software overdrives and distortions are wack.
Just use some quality amp and overdrive simulators and also compress and chorus.
Slayer 2 can be run as an effect and it`s amp and stomp box simulation does the job.
yeah i know what u mean, i find it hard puttin in other vsti's half the timeQuote:
