well one thing i alway say when i'm producing is if i think it doesn't sound right, it usually isn't and i think you've said it yourself. the bass sounds too synthy...
knock it back to sub and work on the rest of the bass hrz instad of being lazy and going with a pro 52 preset..

Hey it would be great if you have any advice now. Its almost done, i will change the arrangement slightly so it doesnt loose so much power on bar 141, also the last breakdowns too long and possibly re eq those hats a tad. I wanna know the faults, any thoughts.

hey i really like it - nice and aggressive.
problem is, i really do feel that break is too long. i mean - a 1 minute break at 2mins. ok if it really kicks and does something but it doesn't cause the track is more of a plodder. then i'm not too sure about taking the bass end of the kick out at 3.40. it sort of looses it's punch - again.
hmmm.. i can totally see you're trying to be different. i just feel that i personally might not play this as it is - ie if it's good for me to take the bass end of the kick out of 1 minute, i'd like to choose when, when i'm djing - not because the record decides it wants to.
i hope i'm on the right track here - anyone else agree/disagree???
i definitely agree with you. it also lacks drum texture which i pointed out to him.. not his best but he can work on it :)
