Sidechaining in Waves

Allo

I'm getting fed up of the native compressor sidechain.

It makes a nasty clicking pop when ever I side chain as it ducks the signal.

Does anyone know how to sidechain using the Waves C1 comp/sc?

I can't understand it for the life of me...

1. Get a Kick and a Bassline going.
2. Pan the Kick hard left.
3. Pan the Bassline hard right.
4. Create a "group" track.
5. Route both the Kick and The Bassline into your group track.
6. Add a Waves-C1-sc plugin.
7. Set the sidechain mode to L->R.
8. Bingo, sidechained bass.

It's gay, but it works.

Prefer the TC Native method loads!

Cheers dude, although i agree that method sounds mincy.

Any tips on how to make the sidechain TC sidechain cleaner? It makes nasty clipping noised whenever I ask it to work. Pesky plugin.

Unless I'm running out of CPU, which is a possibility...

If you're in Cubase there's a VST performance meter?

Should show you how near the edge you're getting.

yep, mine never runs above half bar, but seems to spak out anyway.

Not sure if includes reason in there though...

I usually have to guage it by system response speed and if its clipping when it shouldnt be.

Have you tried playing with your buffer sizes?

Explain more please?

I'll have a look at home, but I think in the VST setting you set a buffer size somewhere... if this is set wrong then it can cause all manner of glitches.

Someone else who knows what I'm on about with more clarity might like to step in now...

you can change your buffer settings by:

devices>device setup>vst multitrack> control panel

voxengo crunchessor might help you out

have a tc powercore card is it possibel 2 sidechain the tc compresser in this using the sidechainer if so how do i go about it :?:
