Opinions on the new German Trance review system

Well I'm sorry but it's doing my head in!
When I read a review I like to think that the person who wrote it knows what he's talking about. No offense to anyone who has posted a review on there, I've done it myself, but being no expert on production techniques and tune layout I just found myself writing "FUKIN AVE IT WHAT A TUNE!!" I looked at it the other day and thought "well that's just bloody fantastic I look like a right burk".

A reveiw should be from someone who knows the score in my opinion or maybe I'm wrong in which case convince me otherwise.

I've always felt other peoples opinions or thoughts on something irrelevant when trying to decide something "I" like. I may find it great where they find it poor etc... or vice versa.

At the end of the day, if the review system was there in place of actually hearing the track then we would end up with a lot of bad purchases.

So Reviews are ok I suppose to get a general feel, but your still going to have to listen before you decide!

I agree. The fact that a tune has been given a good review doesn't mean I'm going to buy it but I like reading a well written review not a load of rubbish written buy god knows who.

Yeah I see your point. The difference between "Stompin' tune beys, facking buy it innit" and "This tune uses a the same style kick drum as xxxxx and cleverly has xxxxx bass line to create blah blah blah...."

if im buyinmg a tune i buy it for 2 reasons
1.because i like it
2.because i know it will work on the floor.

i do like to read peoples reviews but it doesnt realy affect what i buy.What i dont like about gt reviews is that it could be a big dave pearce fan saying something is good etc.

Yeah i think they are bollox. U can tell when someone doesnt know what they are on about when u see 3 or 4 reviews and they are saying its shit.

Then u look another time and someone is saying its brilliant. I know its about different opinions, but those who know are usually right

Yes. Marks in eternity magazine years ago cos i had to mail order as there was no way of listening to em.

i think i did, in fact it wasnt even a review, it was just some brief words about the track-in the tune inn catalogue!

and when i got the track i was dissapointed with it

The German Trance reviews thing is gash. They need to loose it I think.

I do read yours Corbz... you generally spend more time in the upfliting world than I do so it's quicker for me to see what tunes you've reviewed and seek em out.

It's a good way to get free records though....

so I ain't complaining if you are reading them or not... :lol:

It just annoys me that It comes up everytime you go on it...

i have to disagree slightly lads if u look at the reviews everyone seems to give a certain record around the same score. 10 ppl can't all be wrong can they.....?

however comments like 'wooo yeah this tune is ****in amazing are a little too kurt sometimes.

i just ignore the reviews,make up my own mind.

Tbh i dont like the way germantrance.com has gone recently, i dunno exactally what it is but i prefered it when it was just straight vinyl sales without the forum/reviews stuff, and they stock some poor stuff sometimes, just my opinion like :) .

i think ive become much harder to please these days, just getting tired of the same old stuff.

was going to finish on a plus point of the review system but i couldnt think of one :wink: , in the end your going to listen to it anyway (i hope!!!!) actually i suppose its a good way of feedback for the germantrance.com team to see what the majority of people are liking for stock anticipation of other releases etc, (yey i thought of one in the end :) )
