High End Compression

At what point do the dollars not give equal returns when it comes to compressors? (or eq's for that matter)

The TLA Fat series are cheap and seem to do a job (as do some of the other few hunders dollar brands).. However I’m looking to the high end and wondering if the high investment yields equally impressive results.

Does anyone have experience in the high end focusrite stuff.. The blue or red series? Im looking at going big but I need some personal success stories to tip me over the edge..

Anyone here own a compressor that cost more than your car?

hahaha. yo buy 2 dbx's and tla and you'll be more than happy. how many times have we had this conversation.

got a pair of urei la-4's that cost more than my mates car. put that wasn't hard. they sound the biz, loads more useful than the TLA ivory one we've got...
