This Thursday, DJ (that's right!) Donnacha Costello returns to Electric City for his first DJ appearance since a distant turn in Switch that we recall from a few years back. Donnacha's live shows have been some of the best EC nights we've ever had when he has repeatedly outshone the likes of Steve Bug & Magda with his hard-rocking live sets (check this from Wax before Magda: http://youtube.com/watch?v=b-cXgO2kp_I).
Donnacha's Minimise label has been relatively quiet this year compared to 2006 when the label put out releases from Educution, Alejandro Lopez and the killer 6X6=36 triptych of releases. 2007 has seen Donnacha touring regularly across Europe & beyond and also showcasing two 12" releases from Cornell and a CD release of 6x6=36. This rare DJ set will be a chance to get down to hear the records & producers that rock Donnacha's world and you can download a copy of his 'Can't Sleep' mix from 2005 at www.minimise.com. Stay tuned for a special Minimise party at Electric City later this year. First up at 11 is Jay Galligan from Test, EC & Discofinger.
