What is it?

Did you ever wonder if the convention of imitating hardware in software is the final word on friendly user interfaces? Is it indisputably the most efficient, creative and inspiring way of interacting with a software synth? We asked ourselves these questions… and we created Synplant.
Synplant is a software synthesizer with a genetic approach to sound creation. Instead of creating patches the conventional way by turning dials and knobs, Synplant lets you explore a world of organic sounds by planting seeds that grow into synth patches. I dunno how to use the Demo?

Does it work with in combination with another software?

If it's a plugin then yes, you would usually have to run it through a host application as a VST or DXi instrument - cubase/fruityloops/logic etc etc

Some synths are 'standalone' - is there an .exe or just a .dll file ?

Chances are you can't run it alone, though personally I don't know that 100% - just most things don't offer 'standalone' functionality.

YUP, it's not stand alone unlike absinth, but did not know that at the time of the post. Got so excited cuz of the look of the synth. Don't have the machine for to run such host applications that would support plugins like this, but will work on it. Thanks for the post.

Tried it and it is awesome really fun to use and inspiring. A different way to generate sound for sure :)
I wouldn't drop my other synths or anything but will defiantly be getting this one.

It is absolutely mahosive.
I got some vogelisque and 'game form' styled sound easily.

Adding this to the also fantastic ytonic drum-synth by the same fellow -
madness. :wink:
