I've just recieved this profile for Marcelo K2.
I wanted to know if anyone had heard his tracks or sets and what the interest would be in seeing him over here in Birmingham.

Marcelo de Lazzari Legaspe Santos a.k.a. DJ MARCELO K2 was introduced to the turntables in 1995 influenced by the House music played at PACHA Brazil. He started playing professionally 2 years later, spinning house & tech-house, but in 1998 techno totally consumed his mind when he first listened to the tracks of Marco Bailey, Dave Clarke, Adam Bayer, Christian Smith and Cari Lekebusch.
Within a short time, he proved to be such a bright and amazingly talented. Finally, his talent was noticed and Marcelo k2 was booked at one of the biggest electronic music venue in Campinas, the Christmas’s Eve Party. There, Marcelo drove thousands of people wild with his pumping percussive tunes. That was the beginning of a new phase in his career. Since then, Marcelo K2 has been playing all around the country and has signed contracts with 4 international agencies in Europe (U.K., Spain, Austria, Czech Rep.).
Marcelo signed with GLOBALBEAT last year and the agency brought him to Europe in August for a short tour. In Europe, Marcelo played at Spacetime in Zagreb (Croatia) and at the major electronic music festival Technoelement in Linz (Austria) where he performed alongside Terrence Fixmer (Gigolo Records - France), Hardy Hard (Low Spirit/Electric Kingdom - Germany), Virgin Helena (Vienna/Croatia), Vanbass (Austria) and Agent (Czech Rep).
Marcelo’s mixing technique is intense, accurate and spiced with scratches (!), which makes his presentation unique, powerfull and attractive. For his awesome performances he has earned the accolades of an entire list of friends like Patrick DSP (Maximum Minimum - Canada), Mara Bruiser (4 x 4 Records - U.K.), Harald Klotzberg (Decomplex Audio - Germany), Jay C (Overloop - Croatia), Fredy Bee (Overloop - Croatia), Renato Cohen (Intec Records/Noise Music), Murphy (Definiton Records), Nitrosound (Decomplex Audio).
