BIOGRAPHY:
Maligne, written in the Dutch way, defines: “Strongly suggestive of great harm, menace, or evil”. Wouter de Witte chose this name to represent the side of him which plays pure Techno with an evil edge. Born in a small northern town in the Netherlands Maligne grew up in a time where electronic beats were flourishing like never before. Listening to the sounds of 2 Live Crew, Ice-T, Dr. Dre, Mantronix, Kraftwerk and New Order in his youth he quickly became interested in the house and techno sound. From this moment on he knew he wanted to do more than just listening and dancing to the music. Hooking up with a friend, who’s brother owned some decks, changed his perception of handling music. After this he saved money to buy his own decks and fresh vinyl. His collection of vinyl now ranges a whole lot of genres. As a DJ he plays mostly oldschool, house and techno.
Being involved with poundingtechno.com gave him the opportunity to do an edition for the Insiders series. With this contribution he wants to let the listeners experience some dope tracks from labels he finds essential to the techno he loves. Maligne was also there when poundingtechno.com connected with technofor.us. Both websites combined forces to bring the world a new electronic music webradio station called Absolute Technoise Radio. Together with Michel F he host a monthly show called Flashback. As the name implies the show focuses on oldschool. Maligne also uses absolute-technoise.com for broadcasting the TKZ parties he and some friends organize in his home town. By organizing these parties he creates a platform for himself to regularly perform for a live audience.
