- About Dj Skirt:
dj skirt was born in texas, but she has been living in birmingham, uk for the last decade.
she has been a music lover all her life, with early roots in industrial music which lead her to
techno. she bought her turntables in 1998 and was dj`ing regularly in america before she
made the move to england, where she worked for integrale muzique distribution and began
to learn about producing her own music. Skirt has been producing tracks since 2002 (some
techno, as well as electronic based experiments with her own voice), with a recent release
on Subsist Records and forthcoming releases on Trust Recordings and Limetree digital label.
Her tracks have received support and been played by Surgeon, Inigo Kennedy, Casual Violence,
AvD, Black Smith Craft, Systemic, Samuli Kemppi and Horror Brawl to name a few. She
holds dj residencies at The Head Club (birmingham), Detatched (Leeds) and Hemlock Nights
(global), has made two guest dj appearances at HowDoYouDo techno night in York.
