Initially conceived as an exploration into the power of outside influence on the inward human
thought processes, the concept was applied t o musical projects which drew on cues given
by the natural environment, traits of human condition and personal conflict. The core belief in
any extraKt project is that it should encourage thought, not serve as an escape from it.
Before becoming involved in electronic sounds, extraKt took particular interest in percussion,
drumming from an early age and finding a sustaining energy source in the sound of
cultural percussion-ism.
