cool. reminds me of octave one!
my comments:
kick and hats sound a bit underproduced.
i like the drum programming a lot
i like the synth pad, very warm.
i don't like the modulating synth that comes in around 1 min...it's sort of annoying.
i also feel like it could use another element. i'm wary of suggesting something more specific, cause i know you want it to have space as well as warmth.
i'd love to hear more!
the link doesnt work for me
2 dan: link works fine. ;)
2 SlavikSvensk: You're right about the kick and hats.
I didn't used any compression... On the other hand i
don't know if there needs to be any compression on the kick...
about the other sound.
yes i was also thinking about a warm spacy kinda synth.
the link does work now, weird, anyway quite like this, i also find the synth that comes in at 1 minute a little annoying but apart from that its quite good
Thanks Dan.
But what do you think about adding some compression to the kick and hats?
Do you think it needs compression?
Or is it fine like this?
I think after mastering this you will hear the sweatness of the kick / hats through the whole track.
yeah, that's a good point. people do often overcompress. but if i were you, i'd just play around with it. you're right that you definately should not throw a whole bunch of effects at it, but detroit and chicago tracks rely on the power of the drum sound itself, which means you either have to have a real 909 or make it up with signal processing.Quote:

i agree with you dudes :)
