This Thursday sees the first of many residents swaps involving Electric City and other leading electro and techno clubs throughout Ireland and Europe. For this occasion we are teaming up with the most excellent Superconductor crew from Leeds. Superconductor is a monthly night dedicated to bringing global electronic underground music to the people of Yorkshire. The deep techno sounds of Detroit are a key inspiration to their night and the impressive list of guests who have played there confirms this: Laurent Garnier, John Acquaviva, Andrew Weatherall, Claude Young, Steve Rachmad, Ian O'Brien, Carl Craig, Paula Temple, Aux Men, Transparent Sound and Scape One.

On the night residents Alex Bowen and Dan Moore will be weaving their
Superconductor magic over the Electric City decks for the entire evening's
entertainment. Dan is the founder of Superconductor and his DJ selections
are very much inspired by the deep Detroit sounds of producers like
Underground Resistance, Carl Craig and Jeff Mills. His DJing style has seen
him gain a reputation for being a fine technical jock with comparisons been
made to Claude Young & DJ Bone. Alex got into DJing after he opened up his
own record shop, Basspace Records, in 1997. This was one of the first shops
in Leeds that specifically catered for independent underground dance music.
Alex likes to play deep techno from European artist such as Echoplex,
Luciano, D. Diggler and Thomas Schumacher.
