This is my first attempt at making techno. Its nowhere near finished yet
but i want to know whether im heading in the right direction!!

And I'm not all that into "hardcore" techno.
One thing, one of your midrange string sounds seems to be panned too much to the left. It is a great sound, and helps bring everything together, maybe try to dublicate that sound, and pan each equally left and right. You've got a great atmosphere. Keep at it!
