This question will make me look a bit of a dumbass

What are the typical sort of Bass sounds used? im after the hardstyle rong rong rong (well ya know what i mean :lol: )

But im not having much luck.

Also whats the best effect to put on the kick to make it harder?

have you tried rgc audio's triangle 2??

i find layering kicks on top of kicks best for making them sound harder.

On the kick drum side of things I try purely on using my workstation :)

i;ve been having some luck with taking a pure sine wave, bout 100hz (made from SoundForge - tools-->synthesis-->simple) and then add some distortion and compression and then what ever else i happen to insert on the channel which makes it sound good :)
the classic hardstyle bass line is a kick drum, played in reverse and then fuked about with - i've never found the right kick drum to use and not really been able to make my own but thats when the joy of sampling comes into play ;)
