playing your own music live is like going on stage naked, but if you've got it, flaunt it. ;)

Don't forget to print a distinct, large logo onto photo paper (or a vinyl cut) and stick it onto the back of your laptop screen. Banner would be cool too, but don't let it cover all the cables and stuff cus cables look rad :)
Good luck with it man :)
...and nice pose ;)
I wouldn't sweat it at all, Mark. You'll find that with just about any musical performance where you are doing something, once you start it's really no different than playing for a small crowd. The only difference is the nerves before you go on. That's actually helped me. But, if you feel like you're nerves are taking over, get one stiff drink. Nothing more though. ;)
Oh, yeah. As for the computer, if most of your performance (if not all) will be done through that, grab a drive imaging program. Norton tookover the old Powerquest software which was called Drive Image. Basically, before you leave, get your computer set up to look exactly how you want it. Then, run the drive image program. Basically, it creates a complete backup of your machine to CD, DVD, external drive, or whatever you want. If any bad shit happens, you just pop in the backup CDs and you can restore your machine to it's ideal state in about 10-20 minutes.
you'll be fine mark..
once you get the first thumpin kick in, the show will jus fly in.
best of to chrissi & your good self..
DONT FORGET TO RECORD THE SET ! ! !
WE WANNA HEAR ! ! !
BTW, Mark, since you're going to be in Brazil, if you decide to go the one drink route, grab a Caiprinia if they sell it in the venue. It's a pretty sweet drink (which I wouldn't usually like) which is strong as hell and very tastey. It's sugar cane alcohol poured in with a large amount of sliced limes. Very good and just about right to kill the nerves without losing the ability to function.

you'll be fine, just like djing, once that beat slams in the adrenalin takes over and all the nerves disappear. i dont think its worth worrying about the PC stalling, because if it does there aint anything you can do about it anyway. it will be cool, no doubt you will rock the socks off brazil, just enjoy yourself man, both of you ;)
Best of luck boss, you'll rock it
your computer will crash halfway through
it'll take at least 75 mins to reboot
by that time everyone will have left
and you'll be standing on your own in a big empty room.......in tears
hahahahahahahahahahahahaha
Funny name for a nightclub...Quote:

you know what, if it does go tits up and your laptop/pc crashes, just smash it up and call it rock and roll
Remember, laptop smashed over head = considerably more painful than 12" smashed over head.Quote:

mark i would like a recording of this please! please! please!
hey mang don't forget to preach the gospel ;) be safe in your travels! i fly up to the states in a couple days too so wish me luck as well............................
Worst case scenario - you'll never get booked to do another Anxious PA again, or not for a while at least, wouldn't be the end of the world... I assume they wouldn't lynch you, haha. Dancing or other physical exercise is a good way of getting rid of nerves I think, since it's when the adrenalin's pumping when it's not needed, so you have excess energy to get rid of I beleive...
