to whoever asked about glenn wilson, he goes through triple vision if I am not mistaken. As for Prime going under...it definetely sucks. But it really only sucks for the fact that my favorite labels, artists, and friends are getting screwed over. As for the company, theres been some trouble behind the scenes for sometime...or so I have been told by many people who have dealt with prime. I am bummed but at the same time I think something exciting and fresh will rise from all these recent distributor disasters. Who knows, maybe its all part of building a new scene!
Sometimes to build something to be even more amazing and powerful you need to burn it down first.
I was just thinking...if I remember correctly prime is also a decent sized indie rock distributor. Does anyone know much about that side of prime? how were they holding up with the rock?
hey dustin....this is Miko...i dont have you on my msn list anymore...dont know what happened...anyways here is my msn Miko808@hotmail.com....add me up so we can chat somethimes..
Peace
Miko

So who is still left?
Discomania, Intergroove, Neuton, Victoria Music and Web-Records.com right? Damn... the techno scene is really going through some shitty times. Anybody know whats happening with CPL now? From what I know they were working together with Prime on the German market.
i think cpl were trying to distance themselves financially from prime some time ago.. hopefully thay made adequate preperations
There's Elektronic Music and the new Pure Plastic company in the UK, I'm not sure what Just Music are doing though. CPL is still in its early stages, think it's just like a new German outlet for Prime but that there will be lots of other non-Prime labels in there too.Quote:

Yeah but it's probably all old stock, and stuff Integrale weren't able to shift, can't see how it's going to sell now to be honest.Quote:

yeah, cpl were handling most of primes stuff in germany - but they have been sniffing round for quality new labels to p&d themselves because they knew the Prime thing was happening. My partner si has been talking to them recently about doing a joint label project with them and us, looks like its going ahead.. Apparently they seem like a really coolcomapny with a great attitude and some excellent ideas. Lets hope things take off for them..
A friend told us about this forum, just to clear something up, Harvey Lane who used to work for Integrale a few years ago, has started a distribution company up Veto Music Wholesale, the deal with the Integrale stock was part of the package deal, he has no interest at becoming Integrale Pt 2. And as for the stock most of it will be skipped. We have decided to support him (Rodz-Konez).Quote:

well good luck to him, that's all i say.
records skipped????  No no please no. I saw the integrale warehouse b4 and if half of that will be skipped i will be hiding in some skip somewhere.
Apart from that i really hope it goes well.
it is quite a twist isnt it. there are people left to do some of a job, but from talking to people in the shops thay dont really want to rely on them.
there are other prospects on the horizon to, but as i've said elsewhere on this board the next few months will see the rise and fall of many seperate entities. there are certainly no major players xcept integroove left and they where always a nightmare to use when i worked in a record shop.
its a case of who people trust and who knows what is really going on and what people want. i feel confident that my own company will work as i have a massive back up from one of europes strongest and most influential manufacturing brokers so i'll be serving stuff to you guys for a long time to come. if not i'll piss off to berlin and work on the manufacturing side for them. i'm fairly confident harv will bring uk techno back again.
even old prime reps (must've been some of the first people to go) are starting their own tings. i think it might get messy after the falling of some major cogs in the machine, i know who i'd bet on to still be around in six months.
also, where are the prime guys?? reprazent!!!! take some shit like i did!!!

no, i'm kiddin. redundancy is no joke though, but i thought someone would at least be on here telling it like it is/was.

Sigh
JUST MUSIC Distribution is still going strong so maybe they can take some of the labels from Prime and maybe some from Integrale as they went tits up too a few weeks back.
