Some of the Drumcode tracks are really immense, I mean DC 20.5 is still highly playable and I still lamnet the fact some thieving bastard nicked 09 and 10 from me at a party four years ago. Drumcode 04 is still worthy, Brakastate still hs that lovely crunchy hat ride and Petting Me has that funky bassline. ANd lets not forget that a certain First Act by Arkus P has one of the key sounds which sounds remarkably like something ripped right out of the A1 of DC 05.

It does piss me off these days that I have so much DC's, simply as I started butying them when I was well into them and didn't have decks rthinking that by the time I got decks I'd have good records, little taking into factor that my musical style would have changed to wonky shizzle so I now have so little stuff to play that gets me hot, but lots of stuff which might actually go well together if I could be bothered to play it.

i am pretty sure, deafmosaic is right there. i have heard certain loops esp. from say, nokick and techno trance essentials all over the place. i just started to look for those when i read a comment in another forum (usb schranz forum) by björn bommersheim (german producer) that one would have many a aha-moent when listening to both these sample-cds and the swedish sound of the drumcode era. and i can't find anythin wrong with that, back in the days not everybody had these cds. it's just now you can get them everywhere. i suppose, when they got something new then, they just gave it to their friends as well....er i mean they encouraged their fellow producers to buy these cds as well ;) :lol:

that's talking mainly about percussive loops wich surely made alot of that sound ....

i have, and what i hear is some similar sounding records on drumcode...not the same loop. but like i said, post some links and let people decide for themselves.

as for him never sounding different, i'm assuming, then, you've never heard conceiled project pattern 1-4 on svek or stocktown city on rotation or slang on loop...

As for this argument - who the hell cares? i like music that makes me dance, if it comes from sweden, then so be it. I actually like swedish meat balls too - simple but well produced and fun to consume.
Not exactly everyone's favourite food stuff, but it still rocks when you are hungry. Im sure there is some tripe come out of sweden, or other nordic countries, but when i heard it i didnt buy it. its like that argument about porn on TV, if you dont like it switch off.

as for posting links?! even i had the time, convincing you is not exactly the high point on my list of shit to do today, you already have somebody i don't even know telling you it's true and showing you exactly where to find the loops, dude even has "plugin don" under his name, what more do you want? if the integrity of your beloved idol is important enough to you to back him up so hard, why nor investigate the truth yourself?

that fool used sample CDs and obviously at that, and you kids are so blinded by a "swedish revolution" that you can't see the simple truth.

after all, i think umek is the samplecdiest :lol: of them all. remember his voices of africa series, someone. ****, i almost cried :lol: when i got the sample cds of the same name. at least he didn't try to hide it.
in this german magazine, called raveline, they were always rambling on about iso-drumloops used by umek, long before i even knew what they ment. one record from sims i know has been not much more than a (pumped up) drumloop/percloop from a cd, too. i think it was techno t. essentials, too, or voices of africa, dunno. just couldn't believe it?!
i mean, not even trying to disguise it???

and, i know i have told this before, but i still find it amazing that chris liebing used the entire loops from a kit on techno trance essentials for his 'sunglasses at night mix' for tiga. i couldn't believe anybody could be so bland, but nevermind. i could go on for ever, but i think the point is clear.

and this entire ramble from me whas mainly about percloops which are pretty distinguishable, don't even want to know how many people resort to prefabbed (pure) kick loops and stuff.

but who else but us freaks would know, or even bother? :lol:

when did i idolize adam beyer? didn't i say, like 3 or 4 times, that i don't particularly like drumcode records?? that i think a lot of them sound too similar, and were cookie-cutter?? i guess you didn't have time to read those either. that's fine, but maybe you should next time before opening your mouth and flaming someone who just disagreed with you. maybe that bothers you? do you really think you are that important?

and do you really think this post is about innovation? it's about direction. i don't think mainstream techno today is innovative, and whatever your, my, or anyone else's opinions on adam beyer's records as music, i sort of see the drumcode records as at least partially responsible for that. does that seem like i'm f***ing idolizing him? maybe YOU should check the ear specialist, the one Glenn offered to YOU, and ask if they also offer courses on "reading for comprehension."

AS for the sample CD thing? **** it - i really dont give a ****. i have a vast library of samples, if you are a good enough producer you'll recognise what is useable and what is not, you'll also ahve the brains to warp what needs warping and leave well enough alone what doesnt.

Now if ya wanna argue about using things that have been premade - lets talk MIDI files, or generic riffs, or using ANYTHING at all from the past....

its pointless bitching about samples, it serves no purpose. congrats to those who use em properly, congrats to those who dont. if the music is good enough i really couldnt care less.
