A genre of music featuring mechanical beats and found sounds that range from apocalyptic sirens to sampled TV and movie dialogue. It was founded in Detroit in the early '80s and has a tempo of around 126-130 bpm. Like house, the original techno is characterized by the four quarter bass drum: 1 2 3 4, but in techno the feel of the track is harder, darker and more driving. Sub genres of techno include: Detroit techno, minimal techno, experimental techno, hardcore and gabber, the latter of which can go up to 220 bpm in speed.Quote:

By law.
Additionally, all house music should feature the sample "House", and so on.Quote:

not really an arguement, but here in the states when u speak with a generic ignorant individual (which makes up of approximately 90-95% of the people) about any type of dance music at all and you mention techno... Their response is always, oh you mean the music with just the beats? Its ok I guess but its soooo repetitive. I swear I want to leak whatever brain cells they have from their ears and replace it with a potato, atleast that way they are doing some good and scarecrow! lol
That's relatively enlightened.Quote:
