i love how there are several bigger names who obviously havent realised just how shady this release is supporting it, the irony being the more this bootleg saga goes on, the less likely it is Mills will do any remixes, great!
considering the first track is a strange remix/rework of Clarke's Aphrohead remix, id place a bet that he played his original version. I cant see Clarke supporting a record that boots one of his friends so blatently. But maybe everyone is giving up on their morals these days? who knows
they are even using the fact it's causing uproar as a promtional tool... pity they cant spell controversial correct
here Scott, i've bought you a present....

:cheese:
hahaha
;)
are you stocking this release by the way?
no i'm not, but not because i disagree with it or anything.
i've stocked clones, p, killabite, player etc in the past so it'd be a bit hypocrytical not to stock this one. it came out when i was sorting the new website out and wasn't ordering anything new in.
i wonder if mills is still playing the clones releases...
fair point of course, i just find the whole thing very off that's all
and as if that bird is the one running the label, unless anyone can verify it? a few of you guys seem to know who it is, care to share it with the rest of us?
I'm sure lots of people know the origin of the samples, but would just play it because they like it. And look at Ben Sims, he's built his production career on ripping other people's loops - no-one has ever really called him shady. Mills has probably played the Killabites, and he got Sims to remix one of his tracks too.Quote:

Maybe Mills should make his catalogue open to some producers to remix, rather than exclusive 100 copy releases and all that crap. A proper double pack or album from a variety of producers.
i have hear that vinyl does not sell much these days anyhow so it is not like someone will be rich from these.
it is just music for a dancefloor i think. i have this record and i like it. rip off or not :)
well i was just gauging from what t-dj posted, a strong insinuation that this saga has been going on for a while and plays a big part in why there are not many mills remixes about, and from the horses mouth too going from t-djs post. I understand clearly that other's are morally no better at times than this rewerx record, but that's another matter, if someone started a ben sims rip off or not post im sure there would be similar replies to this thread from similiar people, just a thought....Quote:

ive never said it wont sound good when played over a big rig, i just think this is too much a blatant rip to get over it really, just my opinion, not gospel or anything. I just think if someone is going to go to the effort to cause this much hoohaa then why not just put their energies into something way more positive like new material, or maybe the person behind it is uncapable of coming up with their own material, which somehow makes it even less acceptable for me personally.
i dont think it was ever a case of they are going to make alot of money on this either, it's the moral viewpoint thats the issue here and some agree with it, some dont, that's just life really
not that i can see it ever happening but i know for a fact ten years down the line if i noticed one of my releases blatently pulled in this way i would be beyond fuming, as i dare say most other producers on here would too, or at least id like to think so
i also like the idea that someone like mills should open up their back catalogue for remixes, especially if they want to stop things like this happening, not that it will cease this kind of activity, but surely if there were remix competitions or something along those lines then people might think twice.... or not, this is techno afterall
:)
i probably should of quoted that in my postQuote:

This record it seems, is this producer's first bootleg 12" so it's not as bad a labels like P series who have a stack load of releases, and have probably sold a lot more.
yeah definately, but it's only getting singled out because there was a discussion started, and with some strange views aswell, i mean people thinking its dave clarkes label and what not.
it's actually turned into a healthy discussion, always up for a good fair sided debate, does wonders
hey. is t-dj tresor dj? just a thought
t-dj = tresor dj = Pacou
thanks eyes for conformacion. :)
no worries
you guys need to seriously relax.
oh no, how dare anyone make bootlegs in a genra of music based on sampling and ripped off sounds. oh no. the person who wrote this bootie is going to make millions off techno vinyl sales!!! oh no.
like at bootie of mills has never been done before...
http://www.discogs.com/release/26271
at least this new one keeps well to the original.
everyone is relaxed, just conflicting opinions. Better than a one-sided love in surely? Some like it, some dont, some agree with it, some dont, thats just natural
Yea thats super f****ing cheeky especially from re-load putting on both originals too, iam not sayings its correct but leaving yourself open with a 100 only serious when your mills is a bit silly though, it just screams out "boot" i know you should be able to do 50 if you want, but at jeffs status iam afraid this is the stuff you going to have to put up with. It may even have a knock on effect though as hes not released too much it might start pulling fresh faces towards his back cat.Quote:
