I think for pure quality of the back catalogue AXIS.

ahhhh..... Magnetic North.... now that was a label
Superb quality and most coherent over the last years would have to be Synewave and Blueprint for me. Not far away are Downwards, Dynamic Tension and Forte Records.
But this year i'd go for Rodz-Konez.
i think after the distribution shit 1881 has shown it will be back for a lot more. really quality label.
tresor, scorp, axis, downwards, blueprint, surface, inceptive, eruptive, kanzleramt
i used to like compound, native diffusion and skunkworks. alot.
not so much any more.
1881 is sick.
1. Hydraulix
2. Mankind
3. 4x4
i was surprised to see so many ppl listing rxxistance and only one person listing deafmosaic..... we have had some pretty good releases this year..... anyway i like PVC, Supagrupa, Nine, Reverse, Mainout, CBX, Infrastructure, Etc. :rambo:

I don't follow labels I follow artists
Ben Sims (esp. Ingoma), black and Latin crowds react to his stuff
Mark Broom (when he's tribal)
Oliver Ho
Surgeon in his La Real/Midnight Club Tracks phase
Misstress Barb (she just did a Thomas Krome remix that's hot)
Anything on Zenit/Naples guys
Markantonio (you can play a whole set of just him and destroy the room)
Advent/G-Flame
Mr. G
Mills of course (I thought Metropolis was his best yet)
Adam Beyer, depends on the track though
There was a bit on here where some of you were doggin' out Joey Beltram's new stuff, the disco cut-up sh**. You must not play to actual crowds then, because he blows up the spot, anything on STX, the one track off Tresor: Lumina, and that Player remix (the one that samples Rick James RIP) is a ****ing monster! The guy can take a 4-bar funk loop and make a 5 minute banger out of it, that's genius, people go crazy, so whatever
There was this one Gunjack record I played into the ground, played it for over a year, can't remember the name though
There's more but you get the idea
None of these guys ever let me down. Very rarely am I impressed w/ new producers if at all, sorry to say
Downwards
Varial
11th Hour
Electrofunk
Ghostly
and dare I say Dust Science :)

It's nothing close to genius. That new Beltram on Tresor is absolutely terrible, it's so cheesy. He can sample the most overused disco/funk samples (Like most of his other STX stuff) and make a 5 minute track out of it? Well rather him than me, this doesn't remotely measure up to any of the amazing music he's made in the past. Sure it may make the girls shake their hips but there's not a hope in hell I'd ever play this kind of stuff out :nono: and if I did I'd expect to be lynched for it !Quote:

I'll agree here, the quality on the last one I heard (DM005) take it to the next level, the Gunjack tracks particularly.Quote:

Well I like the new 12", +6 every time...
Any way back to Labels and Artists...
Makaton
Looking forward to the new Female stuff
Whitehouse
Got back into Coil in a big way, Black Antlers is brilliant
Looking forward to the new Shake album as well
Favourite labels
Real tricky
I`m more into good tunes.
I do like mankind, it seems pretty consistant.
And
Intoxygene. For handling the young gods.
Gunjack is promising too.
Otherwise, I flick around labels like nobody`s business.
Makaton is doing a remix for us right now :love:Quote:

I am curious on the EP he is making for Downwards.
I want that Black Antlers but got no credit on my VISA to order it on their page, care to share? =)
What/who is Shake? Anthony Shakir?
Makaton is really on form - enjoying most of his output these days. Not heard the Female stuff on Infra - enjoyed his set up in Leeds a couple of months ago tho...Looking forward to the EP.Quote:

There is only one Shake, and yeah you're spot on - really like his productions, the album with SPK was very good and interesting to see him working in another area.
I'm into lots of different labels, but some that I like best are:
(melodic / deep / intelligent etc.)
- Kanzleramt
- Scandium
- Rotation
- Sino
- Truesoul
(loopy, funky shite)
- Southsoul
- Zenit
- Question
- Memory Lane
- SuperBra
(tougher loopy techno)
- Drumcode
- Conform
- Punish
- Kobayashi
- Zync
Of course, there are so many great labels out there that they can't all be named here, but the ones written were chosen mainly for their consistency and/or my affection for the style they represent or an exceptional record they've put out...
No Entry
RAW
VCF
SUF
Blueline
anyone? surprised this is not mentioned.
i have seen soleil on the list
echoplex is very brilliant these times... some really personnal mastering and groovy rythms
Neue Heimat/Sativae/Mosquito/ but when on a harder tip it has to be Tsunami
Actually lot of people here just appreciate quality tracks. You going to tell me that Beltram track is better than the Samuel L Session on Cycle?Quote:
