Loktibrada - Remix Radial - Rybakk - Numb - Numb13
damn that tune kinda sucks compared to older stuff :(
Damned you be the future!!!
-1 Very nice stuff.
See problem here is people want what they want, most of the time they want the shit they heard when they were on their techno honeymoon, and if todays producers don't want to write over compressed, dirty, aggressive music then it sucks? This why your hard techno music is stagnant and the events total bad tempered sausage festivals. Most people either got old, tired, too ****ed up or moved on.
Come on someone post up some NEW hard techno like those Slovaks and the Tonal Path shit, theres nothing wrong imho with a bit of warmth and tension.
mate i didn't expect dalo to be making the same music for the last 5 years that he maid before, but i also didnt expect cheesey prog melodies and boring 4x4 drums either. that tune sucked.
I do like a lot of modern Techno, but I also don't see it as being hard. That's the key word here - HARD. It is definitely Techno, and it is very nicely produced at that, but it isn't hard.
My Dad listens to Rhythm & Blues. He has always loved Blues; it is the music he really feels in his blood. So when he sees on TV that nowadays R&B means Destiny's Child, rather than Robert Johnson et al, do you think he should just say "Yeah, you're right, this is R&B. This is what R&B is these days, so I will blindly accept it because I am told that this is R&B, so it must be"? NO WAY! He still listens to the music he always loved, even if no fcker produces it any more, and he still knows that is the real R&B. He's not gonna accept some lightweight poppy bullsh*t as being R&B, cos he knows it is not.
You listen to Destiny's Child's music, and you can easily see it isn't real R&B. The B stands for Blues, and I don't hear ANY blues in their songs. It's all about how sexy they are, how independent and strong they are etc etc ad nauseum. So, if ya got no blues, how can you be R&B = Rhythm and Blues? Just like a lot of this music is techno but it isn't hard, so how can it be Hard Techno?!
Anyways, I think we are seeing a slow resurgence of real harder Techno, with labels like "We like it hard" springing up (and planning a new night at Tresor) and new releases coming out which, instead of pandering to the whole "minimal masquerading as techno" thing which has been going on for the last few years, are actually a genuine harder techno sound; such as the new Machine Code release from Dean Rodell. I think it's gonna be a while before we see a lot of artists making the real harder sounds again, but it is happening slowly, so watch this space...
Definitely well put bro.
YouTube - Wet Musik - Will e Tell & Simon Digby Pt 5
Nothing wrong with the stuff you mentioned bro.
Fair play to your comment as well man.
but I will say warmth and tension..... and hard :)
YouTube - Surgeon - Atol ( 1995 )

YouTube - Ben Sims - Storm (DJ Shufflemaster Remix)
Hard

The Devil!!!
Well since we've gone into naming old tracks, one of my favourites has to be Robert Armani - Destruction on the Spectacular album. Aparently it's rare, but I expect you can pick it up on one of the vinyl trading sites (not advertising anything :)
Can't find it on 'tube though :/
YouTube - TOBIAS SCHMIDT - TAKE THATT
Hah and this, which I've played out way too much :)
Aparently this is Moby!?! If it is, WTF.
Not necassarily one of my favourites, but banging all the same.

YouTube - Moby/Voodoo Child Horses part 2
This era of Beltram as JB3 was pretty solid :)
YouTube - Joey Beltram - Game Form
Definitely! Good post by Mita there. This label is sounding good to me. It was formed within the last year, so hopefully this is another sign of the harder techno resurgence!
SUBSEQUENT RECORDS - ARGENTINA - CHILE
YouTube - the advent runners
Advent when it was good IMHO.
Somatic Responses do hard techno
PENCWNWC EP | Somatic Responses
YouTube - Concrete Djz - Slow Assembly (Protect Records Digital 002) 2010
YouTube - Armatura Bonus 020 D - NOT HARD TECHNO AT ALL
some plug from me.
obviously not hard. :dontgothere:
Mr EG, have you not just bungled this entire topic by flinging a bunch of artists into the pan who are definitely NOT hard techno ?
Virgil Enzinger
Luis Ruiz
Ritzi Lee
Reeko
Andreas Kremer
Oscar Mulero
Vegim
Oinks
Glenn Wilson
Mattias Friedel
Ryuji Takauchi
Mike Humphries
Machine Code
S-Tek
Andreas Florin
A Paul
Patrick DSP
Brad Lee
Concrete DJz
I'm not saying a lot of these people don't make good music, it's just that they certainly don't make hard techno (certainly nowadays, anyhow)
This topic is stupid.
It's just been a "wrong side of the bed" kinda month, huh?
big up concrete's and everyone doing what they love to do. no matter however you want to label it.
Wetworks - Wetworks - Romance On The River Styx (Live PA) on SoundCloud - Create, record and share your sounds for free
2010 Live Pa by yours truly, proper & hard.
Woah! I remember having that Human Animal track on a mix tape years ago, I think a carl Cox set, and I loved it but never knew what the track was. Nice one!!!
YouTube - Mixhell - Boom Da (Crookers Remix) - Electro choc - ( The ballad of gay Tony )
Oh no! Crookers!
Well this track is harder than some of the bullshit people plug these days
no mention of quick and smart then?
quick and smart is banging - proper quality producer. Propa hard jacked up wonked up shizz :)
hmm yea i kinda thought the same. your standard 'heyy dont we all love techno' thread that shows up every now and again. which eventually turns into a wash of random artists. anyway Makaton deserves to be up there somewhere. moving forward, punk attitude, quality over quantity.
