bwahahahaha
you're all crazy... mills is a v influential figure in techno. you gotta respect him. he's making some cash - whatever - what is wrong with making money?. he's not forwarding techno imho.. but i love him. he was a big part of my life.
we respect that marky, thats obvious i think, but come on.... i think ANYONE in music putting out such non-music based merchandise would get ribbed, its hilarious, really, imagine Glenn Wilson Barometers, or Marco Bailey Carp Rods, or Kraftwerk Frozen Cup Drinks.... or Dj Ribbz Eyelash Extensions or whatever
to be honest they are such weird items i doubt the average mills fan would be interested in them anyway, and he might not make much at all on them
the respect is a side issue really, no one is above a bit of mickey taking, especially for such a venture :)
its great
you love everyoneQuote:

i mean i'd feel weird making classically trained musicians play that shizzle. who's he think he is :techno:
no problem with that kind of marketing but as you said it really doesn't go hand in hand with the philosophical bullshit he utters...

Albeit an expensive sport but thats probably why he did it.
Wrench quality this and that, it's a novelty.
When bands have t-shirts and posters its called marketing.
Why player hate someone making money.
Adam Beyer makes a ton of money playing out, still makes quality music, and I am sure he made some change off the Drumcode slipmats and tshirts. Is he not keeping it real anymore?
very pretentious
the logical progression of the ego of 99% of most dj and artists.
ah ha ha ha! :lol:Quote:

Clothing has no more to do with music than car-racing does.
Actually car racing has a lot more to do with car racing than you think. Its all about harmonics, balance, tuning, focus and intent. I know that music has much in common with racing, I have lived with both for a very long time...
Anyway, who cares what he does with HIS business. There are many out there who diversify their music business and lifestyle and dabble in many things. Some just choose to sell drugs to kiddies, some choose to sell slipmats to kiddies....whatever.
I must add that I have renounced racing about 10 years ago (having competed for 20yrs prior) and lead a lifestyle with far less carbon emissions now. Techno was the perfect substitution for the head-space I had while racing.
"Actually car racing has a lot more to do with car racing than you think"
I refuse to believe that.

I mean, he's not like Tiesto or some proggy plonkers, non stop in the media, earning money for playing shyte etc
he's making money outside music. why would the music be the only thing he does in life? cause thats underground, thats real techno attitude? bollocks...
damn, I wonder what would people say if they knew some techno DJ's are into porn industry.
if I had a money to invest, I'd do the same, coz thats where the money lies. porn. :cheese:
special to him? or special to those who are still buying that record? those who want to hear it on a party? not that is my favourite, but the track did passed the test of time. and if he got the chance to work with an orchestra, why not? the way I see it, its one more thing due to which people might stop looking on techno as drug addicts music.Quote:

plus, dont know if you heard it, but its good.
at least every track of his sounds pretty different from the others in his catalogue. most producers today are releasing bunch of records every year, that sound the same.
and then we wonder why those records arent selling lol
thats our buttman :lol:Quote:

And from a business point of view it isn't a very good move, How many people are going to buy these products?
Adam bayer still makes good tunes and is a good Dj, can the same be said for Mills?
