dude have u heard his world service mixed cd's? They're a lot different than his live sets. The mixing on the world service cd's is world class and cannot be replicated. if so i'd like to hear it.Quote:

dude i just checked out part 2 of that essential mix. it's furkn awesome :D c this is the way id like to hear him mix when he mixes out and not just for his mixed cd's or for some radio show. effortlessly smooth transitions and so simple yet so complex and ALWAYS driving forward.Quote:

I want to hear that Ruskin essential mix.
Not been a big fan of Ruskin DJing. Music kind of too... gay?
As a producer he is in top 3 though.

fair enough. ok check out this sample, its from world service 1 techno cd. Bailey & Redhead's 'watch out' mixed into Beltrams 'Metro'..Quote:

The thing that intrigues me is how does he come from a bangin track like 'watch out' and just slam in a track like 'Metro' without loosing any energy and keep everything moving forward if u know what i mean. A crossover like this shouldn't work as well as it does. How exactly did he do this crossover? That's what i'm trying to find out. As mentioned before in this thread it's that hip hop style of scratchin in a track, but i find this technique extremely hard to do with techno because you can loose your energy so easliy (especially in the hi frequency range). DC (when he wants to) can pull off this technique 99 times out of 100 (when he's not doing his cheesy djm fx tricks). The risk factor of this technique i find so much greater than your standard beat mix.
p.s. i'm at home sick ATM drinking vodka so if this post makes no sense i apologise :)
damn the link didn't work. my computer skills suck! Hopefully this works...
