Just because some of the DMC guys can scratch like a mother **** doesn't make them a proper DJ in a club setting. Just because Sims and Clarkey are fairly decent at cutting records up doesn't mean they'd work the DMC guys. I just fail to see how one genre of DJs would be better skilled than the other. It's all subject to opinion.
I'll agree that that most techno guys wouldn't stand a chance in DMC competitions but it doesn't mean I don't support them for attempting to blur the lines between turntablism and beatmatching.
Quite frankly, I agree that most techno DJs are lazy or not much for show, but in a sense I am kind of glad. I've seen a number of DJs, both house and techno who constantly scratch over their whole entire set. Not only is the scratching half-assed, but it gets **** annoying, especially when people are there to dance moreso than being wowed (which is the point of a DMC comp).
