I've just got back from Djing where I was playing with Ed Real from Nukleuz. He told me:
'Look out in your Post Box very soon. We're starting a hardstyle label of Nukleuz.'
Major news.
Thought I should let you know. What does everyone reckon???

Seems like the Commercial Band Wagon of Hard Style is about to start.
Already?
I dont think this a bad thing yet because nukleuz to me, they arnt that commercial, but once a label like nukleuz starts hardstyle releases, what others will follow?.....
i rekon you should of hit him!
or failing that said - whats hardstyle????/???

Nucleuz might not be that commercial but they do bring out gay ass compilation cds that they advertise on tv. they where one of the first to coin the phrase "hardhouse" in mainstream media just b4 euphoria an that started bringing theirs out with their first cd & they brought out a compilation called "Hardtrance" a year or 2 ago. luckily ministry went down they vocal so called trance root around the same time.
So chances are hardstyle is next.
well there hardtrance is mainly poo so i aint too bothered yet....
Bad Bad news!!!!! :( :(
Gonna bring the 'Hardstyle' sound to the masses now and destroy the uniqunes of the sound!
Mark, you should have nutted him!!!
Ye i posted up about this a while ago, lets not slate it before anything even gets released as some of the tracks might be stormers
My prediction is that it won't be your full-on Underground Hardstyle i.e - Brain Ovulation and Technoboy stuff etc etc etc etc.
Instead, i reckon they will use tunes with the Same Hard Kicks and Basslines but i reckon they will add some cheese to it to make it sell.
I reckon it will be a lot faster than our Underground stuff (Hard House speed) and include cheesey Hard House elements.
I can imagine it now, Same Kicks and Basslines, but speeded up, have an NRG feel to it, minimal cheesey synths/melodies and long-winded cheesey breakdowns.
For example, the Dutch sound, i have noticed some Hardstyle with Very Hard Basslines but VERY Hard House influenced. Dont get me wrong there is some quality Underground Dutch stuff out there, but i have noticed the cheese..............hence the fact this is what i feel Nuckleuz will do.........so i am not that worried.
so let me get this right............
in the last say 3 or 4 years nukleuz have been a hardhouse label, a hardtrance label, a techno label, they've dabbled in hardcore and now they have decided to arse-rape hardstyle. ok i'll admit it i used to like a couple of nukleuz toons back in about 2000, i'm not biased see if a toons good then a toons good regardless of label, producer etc......
but if you cannot see that nukleuz are a little bit way and a tinney bit hey, then u r blind!!!!!
guess whats on the next front cover of mixmag??
hardstyle cd?
Obviously it wont be proper raw hardstyle, and if it is then that wont last long.
Whats this fixation the UK has to water down a sound until it fits in nicely with the latest Westlife release??
Hey give it a chance... I know that most of you are already convinced on the fate of hardstyle but keeping an openmind is best to alleviate frustration and hopefully lead to you being a be a bit more acceptive to a label doing something.
Just keep on looking for the sound that you like as that's what matters.
look, i hope i'm not being an asssssssssssssss hole BUT:
don't under estimate nukleuz... they know the score....
i'll continue to review their stuff and play the odd track they release but this hardstyle nukleus thing is not about them, it's about the fact that the commercial are able to get ahold of the underground 10000000000000 times quicker than ever b4.
we've all gotta be ahead of the game. instead of moaning about stuff, moaning about hardstyle becoming commerical, let's get ahead of everyone...
this is what i want this forum to be... not a load of ppl that moan about a stupid music genre... we've gotta sort out solutions to the problem, not winge about the fact that nukleus are distroying hardstyle.
do you see what I mean??????????????????????????????
me and mzone used to moan about the fact that ppl took over trance and raped the shit out of it but what did that achieve?? NOTHING!!!
you just become sad, bitter, twisted ppl who do nothing for music....
we need to be aware that nukleus are about to make hardstlye massive and move on...
underground baby - that's where the future is.....
we shouldn't STOP playing hardstlye but we should all at least be searching for a new sound ... constantly.... don't stick with one thing... it's the downfall of music...
search as hard as you can everyone...
don't stick with one website/record shop.....
find the new sound and bring it back here!!! that's all i ask!!!

well, if it goes like how it's currently rocking out in Amsterdam, i say bring it on!!!!!!!
but sadly i doubt that would happen.... :(
I agree with Craig regarding the houseyness of some hardstyle tunes and the MC Hammer tune is just dire..... but i guess with all genres of music you have to weed out the shit from the good and imo that is the sign of a good DJ, one who is prepared to hunt for the sound, look past the cheese...failing that, go make ya own fukin tunes, then you only got yaself to blame ;)
its like chris lib. once told me everyone is the same but we all have our own little bubble that makes us different! - the same can apply to djing. we all like the underground (or you wouldnt be reading this) but each of us has our own littlr preferences that makes us unique!
I don't think your being an ass hole at all Mark and I was trying to more or less suggest the same thing.
Somethings you can blatantly feel down about - maybe its the actions of a label, person or whatever but you have to turn the situation on it's head and see how you can possibly benefit from it.
Keep positive... if you write of hardstyle before it get's a chance to grow than what possible chance will it have of surviving?
:)
hmmmm I could of guaranteed that this was gonna happen I mean it happend too hardtrance with tidy 2 etc but I dont pose it as a threat I reckon the production like people have said will probally be
nrg/hardhouse/ normal nukleus feel but with a hardstyke kik and bass.
I have never rated there production too be that good anyways.
but I reckon this hard techno-trance cross over sound is how it's gonna go for the underground thats my opinon.
but nukleuz wont even be able too touch this sound but I wont doubt them until they start releasing
I just dont want the average hardhouse/nrg joe too start banging out hardstyle just yet cause theres still alot of life in hardstyle
what's the score with this hardstyle thing, i agree it's a bit different but it doesnt really do it does it, i cant really see it staying around for that long because p pull are just going to get bored with it
mayby if there was less hardstyle being released, mayby it would have a small chance. f**k my egnglish is shit (welsh ha hah ahah a h)
hardstyle may not stay around for long, but the bounderies need to be pushed forward and the scene always needs fresh ideas. It will have its time and then something else will come around
because nukleuz to me, they arnt that commercial,
==========================================
mmmmkkkkaaaayyyy think your already a main stream raver then!!!!
right let me see the charachterstics of Nukleuz, there a hard dance label, they sell cd's via warner records, they are releasing a hardstyle (incidentally not techno-Trance) label, they make thousands of copy's of each vinyl, and have huge profit margins........... okay there definately underground then
