technically very good, just not really into what he plays.
hey. welcome!
varela is a complete legend in spain. he's actually spoke of very highly indeed most places i go. he's just not that well know in the uk. wonder why.
i heard he is rated very highly in brazil aswell......or was it marco v i dunno. .... its april foolz day gimme a break!
that guy can mix
yes he is massive in brazil. those damn brazilians wouldn't shut up about him whilst i was over there!!! hahahahahhaa
its funny because i ran in to CV in the airport in vienna on sunday and we flew back to madrid together. STAND UP GUY! i will visit his studio mañana.................
I must say that Cristian Varela has easily one of the best techniques mixing wise and is a maestro with 3 decks, him and sims come very close, if anyone can direct me to some links that have some very recent sets of his then please post them. Unbelievable talent!
you better come to germany man! :mrgreen:Quote:

Never seen any1 sip down Coke (COca-Cola mind U!!) like this guy.... really fun guy... One of the very few 4 deckers Pioneer!!!
I don't dig much his music as dj and producer... but respect him a lot!!
He co-owns pornographic rec.s along with Marco (Bailey).
Z
he gave me 008 and 009 on sunday, havent had a chance to listen yet......
so in theory theres a 007........cool!!!
the names wenna....mark wenna
Thanks Mark EG, and i love this forum its so informing :)
Yeah i think cristian varela is a legend in the technique he uz's to mix his tracks. Top noch hehehe
Yeah i heard he isn't noticed that well in england, also here in Australia i always say to people why don't they bring him down like yourslef Mark EG and DJ Ze MigL hehehe
I've just downloaded a mix of his of kazaa...and it's on four decks! amazing stuff.
Varlea is an amazingly skilled DJ technically, but I'll agree the track selection doesn't quite hit me right.
so i was surfing his site and in the news section this is what it said:
"Cristian Varela is particapating and colaborating with famous DJ John Aquaviva in a new movie about DJs called THE MIX, distributed by Columbia Pictures
There will be also the release of the movie game for the dream console X-BOX where Varela will the the nacional character with his good friend John Aquaviva"
****ed up a video game about djing...techno djing at that
yeah excellent techniue forsure
No way i cant believe that his gonna be on a game, maybe people in the uk and Australia will notice him now hehehe :)
ha? what page`s that?
*gg*
....
i hope there is some pornographic gangbang level set in the czeck republic, now that would be a varella game! 8)
A techno Dj game????
Thats gonna ruin everything!
I just received Varela's new MixCD - Salon De Mezclas vol. 3 and I have to say that I am no too impressed with his technique. It is not bad by any means but there are about 100 other guys that can pull the same shite off.
Maybe, but you shouldn´t jugde him by a mix cd.
i never got a mix cd with really impressing mixing on it,
damn it I am wrong Ben Sims escapism is ****!ng amazing
i saw him playin` and i left before he ended...
ben sims escapism part is one of the best mix cd ever made, along with claude young`s dj kicks, and of course jeff mills liquid rooms.
ben sims and christian varela have played here in brazil already...
then technique is just very impressive... they are both exelente djs but their style of techno is not what i like the most... its very hard to discuss about big names like these guys becose they have done a lot to be where they are now... its very hard to make everyone happy so its preaty normal to have people that dont like their work and people that love it...
i personaly think that their technique is amazing but there style of music is not the best... but its a matter of taste that cant be discussed... varela is one the only djs that can really say that spins in 4 decks...
if you guys want someone very good from spain, pay a litle atention to oscar mulero... his tecnique is very good and his style of techno is very nice... he did a 3 decks set here in brazil that everyone that i know just loved...
respect!
Lukas
yean mulero is quality, still plays pretty hard, but with keeping a lot of funk to his set, quality dj.
yeah oscar mulero also a quality dj!!!
i think his done a vs with ben sims, cristian varela and mark broom ????
anyone seen ben sims and mark broom as roku and do there 6 deck thing ????
www.cristianvarela.com
check the news
they must be kidding :( that´s what i call bad news
it's a pitty bout Varela
i think anything commercial should be avoided :/

too massive imho
ok, it's nice that a dj with xtra recognition can visit places where he/she was "unwanted" sort of speak before, but the crowds that such an ad will bring ,,,are the worst.
what does that even mean mate?Quote:

And as for cristian varela, HE IS THE BEST DJ I HAVE SEEN TECHNICALLY so far in my life.
I have seen him play twice in my life, once in brazil. He played on 4 decks at a club called A-LOCA and it was THE BEST party in my life.
He mixes multiple decks as though like no one i have seen. I have seen sims play and ill take varela any day.
When varela played he was mixing Primate kinda Baileyish stuff with Glenn Wilson material. The sound on 4 decks was quite full on!
Anyone who is interested in getting the set, i have about 1 hour and a bit of it, the only problem is that it was recorded through a mic so you have the crowd background noise going the whole way through. The quality is good enough though to get a good feel for his set. I can send it through icq if anyone wants to grab it.
Peace
Pauze
that would be cool :D .Quote:
