This is excellent.
And I'm getting a little (well alot!) pissed off with people digging at Mark and Michael, tbh.
Compared with the formulaic toss that has come out of too many artists recently (RAW, routemaster 51/52 anybody?) this is genius.

Maybe you can start a "What's your worst London Acid Techno Record" thread??

What about that pink little poney record??? Oh, yeah, "I Love Horses", 2mikes on Bernard Haircut recording...Don't know if it's acid techno, but it's certainly the worst record I've ever heard
Or the funiest???
It actually grows on you
Reminds me of that song Father Ted wrote to win the competition to become the Irish representant for Eurovision...
Shit am gonna have to go out and buy it!!!
You can't get it out of your head, can you???
I'm sorry man, but this is just madness IMO!
Where the hell would you slot that into a set?
Don't get me wrong, the flip sides ok, but I really do think this I love Horses track's horrible!
Great track, and playable as well. Don't be a stick-in-the-mud Mr Sigh.
*Si drags himself out of the mud*
I'm liking the other side more the more I listen to it, but this Horses side...
...Nah, that samples god damn awfull!
I'd buy it for the flip, but not the Horse.
do you know where it comes from (that sample???)?
Anything to do with Father Ted?
I swear, it's uncanny the ressemblance...
Just a bit of fun really innit.. certainly an attention grabber.
The samples from a TV advert for a magazine aimed at kids about Horses...
I...can't...get...it...out...of...my...head!
"Si loves horses, they are his friends!"
Shit, maybe its growing on me...
Best of ALLL the annneeemals
Wasn't a dig at you Si - just a general frustration at the world this week ;)
As for where the sample came from?...

No worries, I know it wasn't. ;)
The worlds i been pretty shit love this week for me horses as well.
gonna ask a stupid question but hey...
Who's Michael Forshaw?
I thought this record was top. Quite playable in a wonky sort of way, and extremely funny, I love music (or just about anything) that doesn't take itself seriously. Nice combination of breakiness and hard wonk.
micheal forshaw is a top wonky techno (or so I would call it) producer, whose made some well good stuff also with mark hawkins.
top nasty ****ed up jackin techno, although this release is a leetle different to his usual stuff. Mind you bernard's haircut is described as a "london strangecore" label, so what do you expect but utter absurdity? I love it :)
Michael Forshaw runs a label called Chan'n'Mikes - and plays alot of more leftfield techno with a chpped but breaky feel to it.

Quality name! :lol:Quote:
London Strangecore
It got played at Refresh in Glasgow at the weekend. Go to [_T3chn0lab|:. and in the audio section download John McLean's set, to see how it fits into a set. It went down really well.
Ok, I will D/L it and take a listen. Cheers for the link. ;)
it's class! surely it's just done as a piss take?
this is a really impressive record, im not bang into that sound overall but its certainly ALOT more forward thinking than most of the acid/london stuff, thats not to say that sound isnt good, but this is at least trying to push techno in another direction
I respect forshaw,
I don't know about some of the stuff he makes.
But I will never ever forget the f*cking red seal remix.
Red seal?Quote:

Im sure it was him. He obviously polished it up after in something a lot better, ill try & find the interview.
fantastic/shit
shit/fantastic
its noth, and everything in between.. i just dont know really, but i do know that the world is probably a better place now somebody has remixed i love horses..
noth = both :oops:
I hate it.
I`m far too po-faced and artistically poncey (oh yes, I admit it) for such sillyness.
But I gotta respect em for doing their own thing, and not just bangin out the compressed loops.
He definently stated that he made that track on some sortve playstation program for real.Quote:

then i can only presume he has had ALOT of memory cards and stations hooked up loading all his professional samples in the awful MUSIC 2000 program that was on playstation. ive used it for pissing round and its not even good as a game, so im sure it had alot more to it than simply knocking this up on a playstation
funny that but nor can iQuote:
