I think the UK's getting quite good at the mo you know. PPl seem to be opening up a little more to the sound. What are everyone's else's thoughts? Where's the best towns/cities/countries for the hard sound?

in scotland its pretty poo tbh,
Edinburgh is very strong for techno, but not the hard stuff, hope it changes soon. Although there are free parties where a lot of the djs play mad french/euro techno which is like at a hardcore pace.
Not a lot on in the clubs tho... ghetto techno and breaks kinda stuff is quite big in edinburgh.
of the place's i have played i would say north spain and slovakia they really love it hard in slovakia it has to be said
leeds!!! euphonic, orbit, cabbage(more on the acid side of things) there is another night opened recently, they kicked it off with a free party with ignition technition, mike humphries, jon nuccle etc(didnt have a name though) and ignition tech are residents there.
theres always techno nights popping up in leeds all the time, and there is other techno nights looking at diffrent areas of techno such as superconductor(i think detroit legend claude young is resident there)
i dont get out as much as i would like but if your looking for a good underground night come to leeds
Aye Leeds is good for hard techno, just a shame they have such a sh.ite footy team. :wink:Quote:

london is "warming up for the weekend" again.
the ec1 has started again and chris lib played there last weekend
sounded really 'avin' it proper techno room too
none of this pansy "radio 1 " rubbish hehe
oh sorry you were talking about football
well speaking as a crystal palace supporter..................
Birmingham has to get a mention surely? even tho its an eyesore it does host some wikid nites, HOG and Atomic Jam being the main ones.
Weymouth is turning into a right techno hole! :D
London. It really does seem that the techno scene is coming alive again... Which is a damn good thing! :P
oh yeah forgot to mention Brum.
Wish there was some evidence of this ! :?Quote:

Hopefully, electronic music kicking back off in the cities will have some sort of knock-on effect elsewhere.
And, whenever I travel to London/Brum, I seem to see the same faces which must mean although this is a great scene, it is still quite small.
birmingham can be excellent for techno. there is at least one quality techno or electro night on per week.
i cant see why so many people see birmingham as an eye sore?
Dublin....
What I mean is paddys nights every first sat of the month, and the techno is flying out of meri's shop aswell, surely thats evidence that a lot of people are into there techno now?!Quote:

Edinburgh's techno scene is coming alive at the mo with clubs like Sativae, Dogma & UTI and a free perty every fri/sat. Lots of quality producers emerging with their own labels as well. :D
Lookin positive fer this neck eh the woods anyway...
north wales is doing very well at the mo
:D big up wired :D
yeah leeds is ok but the orbit isn't what it used to be. Missed surgeon regis and paul damage cos i was at gkgg but everyone said it rocked like it used to. The best place for hard techno at the minute has to be NORTH look at their line up soon kramer kdsmith producer. Now that is a hard techno line up.

then we had syndicate in the same venue....who started getting more diverse guests like oliver ho,glenn wilson, mike humphries, slobodan, julian liberator.....it really was a techno haven at one point up these ways....youd have voodoo one friday....then syndicate the next....then voodoo the week after that...and then a drum and bass night the week after.....i swear i lived in le bateau on friday nights for nearly 2 years....i dont know how i went anywhere else......
things have changed a lot now though...both nights are well gone...have been for over a year....voodoo closed to concentrate on the label...which has now gone strangely quiet......syndicate just dissapeared.....
in january a lad i know booked a really sweet venue....got charles seigling to come and play and got 150 people in.....a far cry from the voodoos 400 - 500.....
now all liverpool has left is bugged out....which is basically full of students who have went just because its in cream and is seen as trendy...not because they love their techno.......
im startin a night in december and hope to fire things up again but it will be a hard struggle......
best place at the mo for me techno wise is brum.....its got aj!! nuff said!!
North is pretty reliable for Hard Techno (Marks a regular there). They are holding nights at Lakota in Bristol now, used to be at the Void in Stoke but thanks to Golden (unbelievably bad House and Trance club) this isn't possible at the moment.
Brum is sound, both the Hog and the Jam can put in a good performance. Inukshuk is pretty good, Techno in the main room which gets hard towards the end. Also in Brum starting on 13 Sep. at Radius Insurrection is starting back up again which is a good Techno night.
Oblivion in Leicester, if it's still going, rocks as well. Heard some good stuff about Hard Techno in Scotland as well but haven't been yet.
Innit, a few years ago Liverpool was brimming with techno.Quote:

Voodoo was THE best night by far, the rush & bone night was excellent.
DJ Bone in 2000 was one of my best nights out.
Liverpool now has the mighty T-funkshun though, Surgeon & Regis on next week!!!!
as for Bugged Out, that cheese club can **** right off, I hear rumours they have Fergie booked to do a techno set later in the year!!!!!!!!!!! :?
eastern europe.
