Funny how propaganda works isn't it?
shit, my bad. this is what happens when you scan read everything quickly. i thought you guys were talking about what's going on with Work Records out in california. anywho as far as i know about this label, it's from clarke. but don't quote me on that.
I have heard its from Dave Clarke...........
why doesnt someone just ask him?
Because I hear he has the same powers of Medusa and his gaze can turn one to stone!!!!
i dont think that works via email?

hehe, asking clarke something via email. funny imagination...
imagination? ive had plenty of emails back of Clarke over various matters, i dont get it?
ok
just thought clarke is not that kind of person who answers mails or talks to music interested ppl (or "fans").
that old classic
he's a normal guy like most, and he has full access to the complete range of human emotions believe it or not!
i dont see how people think this is his label anyway? ive heard no rumours on t'mill
my friend says he was having a joke with me when he has said that Richie Hawtin has make the white side :headache:
Clips to this anywhere?
Ok guys :doh:Quote:

This is not a cop out answer but you should buy what you feel
comfortable as there is no one machine that makes every thing amazing, I
come from a hardware point of view so I cannot begin to advise you on
event stuff, personally I prefer Eventide, Lexicon, Focusrite and I use
VST but for sequencing only. That is my way, but it doesn't mean it the
best way. Good Luck.
DC
And which one did he recommend?Quote:

And don't tell me, "oh, but he replied to an email, or is cool to talk to"...that's fine, but the other hand the fact is that he can be very ignorant with people sometimes, something I've seen many times. Anyway, I've never thought less of him, have usually found it quite amusing in the end, he wouldn't be Dave Clarke if he didn't have the bit of attitude or blunt expressions.
Anyway, enough of that, gonna listen to these new Dave Clarke tracks :)
thank you sir :)Quote:

yeah i didnt know about this so its definately a hoax. And Mixmag txt me back to confirm that
sorted
Yeah, just listened there... was a little dissappointed to be honest. 1st track was ok, second one didn't do a lot, apart from use the Aphrohead remix drumloop over "Dark Matter".Quote:

right think ive got this, the aside seems to be a shit version of Clarke's Aphrohead remix and the bside appears to be the a dreadful bootleg of Subjects vs Mills "Dark Matter" as already stated
really badly done bootleg alert?
hmm, dont think these tracks are outstanding. but... i dont have that mills record yet. so think ima grab this rewerx if i find it.Quote:

on a system i think they would work pretty well actually
na personaly i really like it i think its bringing back the id in tracks we need
ive found out whos label it is
If I didn't already have "Dark Matter" I'd probably be blown away by the second one, it is an awesome acid line after all... but really it just reminded me of that time Fergie ripped the Horsepower hook line for that dodgy Cheeky Biscuits label... it's just too big a rip for me to really like, doesn't display too much invention. That said I'm sure it'll go down well in a club, which is the aim. It's funny though, I've played "Dark Matter" out before and no-one ever asked "What's that one?", I bet if I played this shinier bootleg version there would be people wondering what the hell it is!
I sometimes really like bootlegs or techno tracks with hints of older tracks, Frankie Bones in particular does it very well.
SSHHH! :cheese:Quote:

bought it today and added it to discogs. if someone here is a discogs mod, please give it a yes-vote http://www.discogs.com/release/757545 :)
Mills is not happy about this "Dark Matter" thing at all. Its been "a complex case of remix hell" as he described it. He made these edits for a New York label "Undertow": http://www.discogs.com/release/66564 and http://www.discogs.com/release/345178 (second one being a dubious release already). The thing went on to some italian label ULR http://www.discogs.com/release/66917 without clearance and ended up on Re-Load (known for some very dubious business practises, MUCH worse than R+S at their "shady" times). Some of the Re-Load guys took the liberty to "remix the remix" (in other words, **** around with unlicensed material) and pressed up this: http://www.discogs.com/release/31984
This whole (as it seems ongoing) story is the main reason why there are only a handful Jeff Mills remixes out there. Here is a pretty awesome one: http://www.discogs.com/release/38406
He decribed the whole story some years back on his site (there was a kind of forum for a while until spammers and playerhaters took over)
yeah, i dont know why people are bigging this up in the first place, you only have to listen to it to realise all is not what it seems.
great pic
