he used to play some brilliant techno sets around 94/95.

I haven't checked out his site, but i seem to recall that Tanith changed musical direction. I remember buying a doublepack tape & his mix I loved, really bad mixing but great tracks.
That double tapepack is probably the Universe one - same Tanith mix that was on the Producer/Tanith tape (what an awesome tape!)
On the latest Vibealite album in the sleeve notes it gives a shout out to Warlock (RIP), but surely if he'd died someone would have heard something?

When Tanith came on (and if memory serves me right, I think it was billed as his first uk appearance) and started into that hard, industrial techno loads of people just seemed to stop and stare. Didn't know what was happening. It was shit hot, I think he really scared people :twisted: :clap: :lol: Now I'm going to have to rummage out that tape for another listen. It's funny - I used to live in the south west and it was amazing how many people were introduced to dance music through that tape, and how highly regarded it was. I remember chatting to Producer last year and he was saying how mad it was that one released mix of his basically made him, and he was humbled by the reaction people always had to it.
I haven't got that tape- sounds interesting. Mine is a doublepack- 1 of Vaeth & Tanith's. Was one of the first techno one's I bought.
Warlock is alive, well and running the "Rag and Bone" night and label in London...
I think he djed at one of the uglyfunk parties at the dungeons, he's sounding more like 2 step but really ruff...

Not meaning to sound like a gimpey boff, but producer didn't play hypnotist- house is mine 92. It was actually rsm026 (I know that rising high's can no is normally rsn, but the record has rsm etched on it) Hypnotist- Live in berlin ep and i think the tune is called hymn. Its also on 'the complete hypnotist' album. It uses the same piano as the house is mine, but uses it to much greater effect in my opinion!! :doh: I do sound like a proper know it all, but i spent years trying to find it so thats why i know so much about it!!!
Oh and by the way that is an awesome tape. Check out how mental Poducers mixin is!

i heard that tanith switched to playing breakbeat stuff in germany cos he was fed up with the commercialism coming into the techno scene there. he used to play at the orbit a lot over here, but i never got to see him unfortunately.
i've got an old tape somewhere from late92/early 93 with him on one side playing VERY, VERY hard (surprise, surprise!) and sven vath on the other-excellent tape! if he has changed direction, its a big shame
